LAMBRINI GIRLS RELEASE NEW SINGLE “LOVE” AHEAD OF DEBUT ALBUM

“Who Let The Dogs Out” is poised to be an unyielding debut from one of the UK’s most dynamic and fearless bands, tackling a wide array of social issues. The album captures the raw energy, anger, and charisma of Lambrini Girls, delivering a powerful critique of modern society. If blending political commentary with humour is like inserting a sparkler into a loaf of bread, then this album resembles an entire fireworks display inside the factory: strange, dangerous, and exhilarating.

Regarding the single “Love,” the band explains, “It’s not a critique on genuine affection—it’s about mistaking toxicity for love. Like a moth drawn to a flame, unable to discern between warmth that soothes and a fire that burns you, and getting pissed off about it. It’s an embrace full of sharp edges, a kiss that stings. Poison pretending to be sweet, venom dressed up as nectar. When love is learned through chaos, pain feels like connection. It’s the cycle of chasing affection through suffering and holding on because you’ve never known anything else. It’s about the bitterness and resentment from trying to find something, only to realise it remains elusive. What this song conveys isn’t love at all; in fact, it’s the very opposite.”

Phoebe and Lilly met in Brighton and have spent the last few years carving out a reputation as one of the best live bands to emerge from the UK since IDLES. Their blend of blunt-force punk, incisive social commentary, and sharp humour has earned them comparisons to Bikini Kill and Huggy Bear, and they have shared stages with notable acts such as Gilla Band, Shame, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and Iggy Pop. Their critically acclaimed 2023 EP “You’re Welcome” channels their live energy into six blistering tracks addressing issues from lad culture to transphobia, encapsulated by its striking cover art—a cartoon pile of shit on fire.

The band has garnered numerous accolades, including a nomination for the Rising Star at the Rolling Stone UK Awards 2024, a Kerrang! cover feature with Sleater-Kinney, and international festival appearances from Glastonbury to Iceland Airwaves.

Their debut album was recorded with Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox and mixed by Seth Manchester (Mdou Moctar, Battles, Model/Actriz). Written in two brief yet intense sessions in rural Oxford, the album’s creation was a disciplined process of writing by day and relaxing by night. The second session was notably more chaotic, involving 48 beers, a bottle of vodka, six bottles of wine, two bottles of Lambrini, rum, and tequila.

“You know how Fleetwood Mac almost dedicated ‘Rumours’ to their cocaine dealer? I think we should dedicate this album to all the booze we bought at Tesco,” the band quips.

“Who Let The Dogs Out” will be released on 10th January 2025 via City Slang.
