60 SECONDS WITH SLEEPING TOGETHER | THIS FEELING ‘BIG IN 2025’

Introduce yourselves and how did you all come together as a band?

We’ve got a fresh lineup at the moment. I’m Alex, and Mike and I have been playing together from the start. Amber and Dan joined us in 2024 after our previous members parted ways, all on good terms, we promise.

What’s Keeping You Busy Right Now?

We’re pretty lucky at the moment. We’ve got a load of tracks ready to drop in the new year, including our next single, The Essentials, coming February.

The new lineup is already writing the next set of tracks, and it’s feeling like the early days all over again.

What are you most looking forward to about performing at the Jacaranda for the “This Feeling” gig?

Not to fangirl too much, but The Rolling People are in a great place right now, and we’re excited to share the stage with them. We caught their show at Manchester’s Ritz last year, and it was incredible. So, we’re thrilled to be joining them in January.

Song wise, It’s definitely The Essentials. Although it’s usually Daisy (Marc Jacobs). By late January, we’re hoping The Essentials will be highly anticipated. We’re excited to see how people react.

In regards to the show, there’s always a touch of competition with a line up that strong, happy to be in the thick of it.

How do you feel about being part of the “This Feeling” movement? What does it mean to you and your band?

George was one of the first to give us a shot, and he’s always been great to us. We’ve had some class shows together — supporting The Clause, a bunch of headline gigs in Liverpool. We’re buzzing for Big In 2025 on January 24th at Jacaranda Baltic with The Rolling People, Kowloons, and Callum Codd.

It’s great being part of a scene with so many rising artists. Everyone’s got their own thing going on, but there’s always room for more. The network we’ve got through This Feeling has been solid, doors open, connections feel real, and that’s what it’s all about.

What’s your take on the current music scene, both locally in Liverpool and on a larger scale?

It’s definitely tougher than it used to be. Costs have shot up, and it’s harder to stand out. I’m still all in, though. TikTok wants top-notch content, which doesn’t come cheap, and with so much new music out all the time, it feels like everyone’s shouting for attention. But in that chaos, some real gems come through.

Locally, Liverpool and Manchester are full of great bands at the moment. Bands like Keyside, Dirty Blonde, Stone, Bandit, and Bayboards have been solid for us, whether it’s offering advice or just helping out. Having that network makes all the difference.

Who or what has been a significant influence on your music recently?

Recently, we’ve been really into tracks like Kilby Girl by The Backseat Lovers and some bits by Wunderhorse. We’ve also been loving the recent Tiny Desk performances — Justin Timberlake’s set is an absolutely class.

What are your plans and goals for 2025? Are there any big announcements or projects on the horizon?

Spoilers. We’ve locked in the first festival slot for the summer — one that a lot of fans have been asking us to play, so we’re buzzing for that. The Essentials is dropping in February, and we’ve just signed off on the artwork for our second release of 2025. It’s going to be a good year.

Sleeping Together will play Liverpool Jacaranda Baltic as part of This Feeling’s ‘Big In 2025’ showcase. Tickets are available here https://thisfeeling.co.uk/bigin2025/
