Introduce yourself…?

Hello, we are Luna Marble, a 4-piece Classic Rock band from Manchester. We like to be creative with our dense production style, our starry aesthetic or our electric live performances. I feel we make this well-known genre our own whilst pushing its boundaries. We formed in 2021 and we have been gigging extensively and slowly releasing singles in anticipation to our debut album!

How would you describe your music?

I’d say that the overall sound of Luna Marble is classic rock, but we bring lots of influences from all sorts of genres like blues, psychedelic rock, folk rock, grunge, art/progressive rock, funk, disco, latin music and more. We also love to combine the sound of groovy/badass Rock ’n’ Roll with etherial/atmospheric textures, I’d say that is a signature characteristic of our music.

Do you have any new music coming out?

We have just released our latest single, ‘The Ride’. This is our 3rd single ahead of our debut album. This one has a fun and dancey atmosphere with the main focus on groove.

What’s your favourite song that you have written/released?

My favourite Luna Marble song is ‘Running’. I love the energy of that song, from the first seconds it makes me feel like I want to break some stuff. I also love the uplifting vibe of the chorus and the guitar solo is one of my favourite solos that I have written (Dragos [guitarist] here in case you haven’t guessed).

What’s your current favourite song from someone else?

At this very moment it’s Dream Theater’s ‘Answering The Call’ from their latest album. This might come as a surprise to some, but this was THE band for me growing up. I hadn’t listened to any DT for a good few years as I was getting more into my classic rock and blues but for about a week or two I have really been reconnecting with my roots.

If you had the opportunity to write an album other than your own what would it be and why?

Oof, this is a tough one, there are too many! For the sake of this interview however I will say it is Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’. I think it’s their best album, distinguishing itself from the likes of Dark Side or Animals through its variety for me. Every song is so different from one another and amazing in its own right. In spite of that the album doesn’t feel disjointed, they somehow managed to bring it all together and to me that is the sign of a true masterpiece. On top of that, it features one of my all time favourite songs: ’Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ (the whole 26 minutes in all their glory). What a song. What an album.

Stone Roses or The Smiths?

The Smiths any day of the week.

What would be your most controversial opinion on anything?

Pineapple on pizza.

Best pint (or pub) in the world?

I’m not really a big drinker but I really enjoy a Mango Unchained ShinDigger.

Dream venue to play?

Wembley Stadium.

Any gigs/festivals coming up?

We like to keep busy with gigs as playing live is where we really shine I feel. That being said we haven’t got that many gigs booked as we are currently focusing on finishing the album BUT we have something VERY exciting in the books so make sure to keep an eye on the ‘Tour’ page on our website to not miss out!

Future plans?

Releasing our debut album. We’ve been working on it for a quite a while now making sure that everything is sounding just how we want it and I must say we are quite happy with how it’s shaping up. Cannot wait to share it with the world next year!

If a tree falls and nobody is around, does it make a sound?

Yes? No? I don’t know, I was never not around when a tree fell.
