‘NO A MEAN CITY’ MAKES IT’S INNAUGRAL CELEBRATION OF GLASWEGIAN INCLUSIVITY AT CITY’S RUM SHACK | IN PICTURES

UNINVITED, SOAPBOX, STRAiD, PVC, MARTHA MAY AND THE MONDAY’S, SAN JOSE, SHAUN CHOON AND THE PRAWN MONSOON | GLASGOW – RUM SHACK 07/09/2024 by Hope Simmers

Earlier this month, Glasgow’s ‘No A Mean City’ made its live debut in the city’s vibrant East End Rum Shack. The inaugural ‘No A Mean City’ brought together an eclectic mix of Glasgow’s best and brightest bands with all proceeds going to Refuweegee. Featuring Uninvited, Soapbox, STRAiD, PVC, Martha May and the Monday’s, San Jose and Sean Choon and the Prawn Monsoon, plus special guest speakers, the event offers a space for the people of Glasgow to celebrate the city’s rich history of supporting refugees and rejecting hate speech.

A collective effort from Scottish Music Collective and 442 Presents, the event has raised over £1800 for Refuweegee and will hopefully return to a local stage very soon!
