And the gigs just keep getting better! Last week Haevn wowed us at Shepherd’s Bush, then this week Eivør triumphed at the Electric Ballroom in London. All I could imagine would be how utterly amazing it would be if these two artists put on a joint headline show! Either way, the busy October gig season just keeps getting better.

The show was a deeply atmospheric and emotional experience with Eivør showcasing her exceptional vocal range and mastery of the Faroese folk tradition. Supported by Sylvaine; the Norwegian artist known for her ethereal blend of post-metal and shoegaze, the evening offered a contrast of haunting melodies and powerful soundscapes.

Sylvaine opened the night with her distinct mix of ambient black metal and introspective compositions, setting the tone for a spiritually charged performance. Her emotionally intense set resonated with the audience, leading into Eivør’s headlining performance at 9:00 PM.

Eivør’s setlist featured fan favorites like ‘Trøllabundin‘ and ‘Í Tokuni‘, mixing tracks from her older albums such as Slør and newer material, including songs from The Last Kingdom: Destiny Is All; a nod to her work on the soundtrack of the popular series. Her performance of ‘Gullspunnin‘ and ‘Falling Free‘ stood out for their dynamic transitions between soft, intimate moments and explosive crescendos. Her vocal delivery ranged from delicate whispers to powerful, otherworldly tones, creating a captivating atmosphere that felt both ancient and contemporary.
