There is something for everyone in Sheffield’s thriving music scene, ranging from to indie rock and all points in between. These events are sure to have your pulse pounding and your feet thumping, regardless of whether you’re an experienced gig goer or want to find fresh talent. SIDNEY & MATILDA
KEG
Keg is a dynamic band that is well-known for their distinctive fusion of diligent songwriting and modern post-rock. Barbed guitars, erratic synth lines, and even a trombone contribute to their music’s wild yet melodic sound. The seven members of the band give their live performances a wild energy.
Keg has played at prestigious festivals including Greenman, Latitude, and End of the Road and has established a devoted fan base because to their captivating live performances. Their highly anticipated first album “Fun’s Over” is scheduled for release in early 2025. They have already released two critically praised EPs, “Assembly” (2021) and “Girders” (2022).
It will be an incredible pleasure to see them perform their lively and genre defying music at Sidney & Matilda.

CHLOE SLATER
A rising star, Chloe Slater is renowned for her moving lyrics and enthralling voice. Her distinctive fusion of pop, folk, and indie sounds has been generating buzz in the regional music scene. Chloe’s songs frequently include catchy melodies and reflective lyrics that are appealing to audiences.
It is greatly anticipated that her concert at Sidney & Matilda on February 27, 2025, will be a remarkable evening of live music. If you appreciate seeing up-and-coming artists perform in small settings, you should certainly check out Chloe Slater’s show.

DOVES
Doves are an English indie rock band formed in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in 1998. The band consists of singer and bassist Jimi Goodwin and twin brothers, guitarist Jez Williams and drummer Andy Williams. They are known for their atmospheric sound and have released five studio albums, three of which reached #1 on the UK album charts.
After a hiatus starting in 2010, Doves reunited in 2018 and have since released new music, including their fifth studio album, “The Universal Want,” in 2020. They recently announced their sixth studio album, “Constellations For The Lonely,” set to be released on February 14, 2025.
The band will be touring the UK in 2025, with a performance at The Leadmill in Sheffield on March 2. This tour will be without frontman Jimi Goodwin, who is focusing on his mental health, while brothers Jez and Andy Williams will take on vocal duties.

ANTHONY SZMIEREK
Antony Szmierek is a talented spoken word artist and musician from Greater Manchester. Known for his unique blend of pop, poetry, and psychedelia, Szmierek has quickly gained recognition in the UK music scene. His music often features introspective lyrics and melodic arrangements.
Szmierek’s breakout hit, “The Words To Auld Lang Syne,” became an optimistic anthem for getting through dark times. His recent EP, “Seasoning,” showcases his ability to blend euphoric beats with heartfelt storytelling. Despite his rising fame, Szmierek continues to teach part-time, balancing his duties as an artist with his commitment to education.
He has performed at notable festivals like Glastonbury and has a dedicated following due to his engaging live shows. Szmierek’s music is often compared to that of The Streets’ Mike Skinner and Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner.

THE LILACS
The Lilacs are an energetic and genre-defying indie band from Wigan, known for their soaring riffs and live performances. The band has garnered a dedicated following through their dynamic shows and has performed at iconic venues like Manchester’s Albert Hall and festivals such as the Isle of Wight Festival.
In 2025, The Lilacs will embark on their “The 395 (To Forever) Tour,” covering nine cities across the UK, including a performance at The Leadmill in Sheffield on March 28. This tour will feature tracks from their acclaimed album “Evergreen Horizons” alongside new anthems, promising fans a sensational musical experience.
