KNEECAP’S H.O.O.D GETS 2025 REFRESH WITH SEVEN NEW REMIXES
Recently shortlisted for the BBC Sounds of 2025, Irish rap trio, Kneecap, who took 2024 by storm, have today shared a fresh mix of one of their biggest tunes, H.O.O.D. which last night was premiered on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio 1’s New Music Show.
An early self-released single from 2021 and a firm live favourite, this 2025 refresh is accompanied by a couple of fantastic remixes from Sam Interface and Working Men’s Club.
A huge high-octane tune, H.O.O.D. is the chaotic, dizzying set-closer to their live show and also the track accompanying the rolling credits of their eponymous BAFTA & IFTA shortlisted feature film. Universally loved by their fans, it was most recently sung-back word for word deafeningly by 9.5K fans at a sold out Belfast SSE Arena in December.
London based producer / DJ Sam Interface’s remix pumps up the heaviness of the back track to create a super tough drum and bass ram raid that threatens each every element of your speakers. Talking about the remix, Sam said:
I loved the aggression and energy of the original version of KNEECAP’s H.O.O.D. I thought it would be really fun to re imagine the track as a gritty, lo fi, dance floor banger! I think you can hear influences of early grime, jungle techno and Chicago footwork as well as my own signature flavour. I hope people enjoy it, I really enjoyed making it!
Also on remix duties are Heavenly heroes Working Men’s Club who take H.O.O.D. on a strobe flecked Friday night journey through peak time Northern night clubs by setting everything against a relentless, pummelling rhythm track that amplifies the chaos and magic of the original tracks’ vocal.
