ENTER SHIKARI AND FEVER 33’S JASON BUTLER TEAM UP AHEAD OF BIGGEST TOUR YET
Jumping on the bandwagon of their 2023 UK No.1 album and impending UK/EU tour, Enter Shikari and Fever 333 lead singer Jason Butler share their new collaborative single ‘Losing My Grip’.
‘Losing My Grip’ marks the first new music from Enter Shikari in 2024, following the band’s biggest year to date which included the release of their first ever UK #1 album A Kiss for the Whole World and the announcement of a huge world tour. They closed their 2023 with live runs through Europe and Australia, and will begin their biggest ever UK headline tour later this month.
Linking up with long-time friend and upcoming tour mate Jason Butler (Fever 333) for ‘Losing My Grip’ is a characteristically inquisitive and probing single that beats its chest and locks eyes with a world spinning out of control. It again showcases the collaborative talents of a band that in the last year alone have worked on singles with AViVA, Cody Frost, WARGASM and You Me At Six.
Talking about their new single, lead singer and producer Rou Reynolds says:
“We’ve known [Fever 333 lead singer] Jason for years now and have toured much of the world together. I think we always thought that it’d be great to collaborate on something when the right opportunity surfaced.
This track certainly felt right. It required a thoughtful intensity, which Jason provides effortlessly in whatever he sets his mind to. We can’t wait to take Fever 333 out on our UK and Europe tour, it’s been too long since we shared a stage together.
Rou continues:
Losing My Grip oscillates between two of our favourite and foundational genre influences; Drum and Bass and hardcore punk. Lyrically, it’s about the immense power that our species now wields, and the pressure and weight that that adds to our lives. We’re the only species capable of destroying itself (and all others) completely and, increasingly, it appears as though we’re only too willing. Losing My Grip is about the fight to stay sane whilst living in a deeply and dangerously flawed system.”
Fever 333 lead singer Jason Butler adds:
“I’ve always been a fan of Enter Shikari. Yes, them as a band, but moreover, them as people. Yes, what they do, but even more so how they do it. They are an entity in their own lane and I’m honoured to have had an opportunity to swerve in it for a second and very excited to be rockin’ with them on this upcoming tour. WE ARE GODS.”
In February 2024, Enter Shikari will kick off their biggest ever headline tour of UK arenas, in celebration of the release of their UK #1 album A Kiss for the Whole World. Tickets are on sale now, with £1 from each ticket sale being donated to the Music Venue Trust in support of grassroots venues.
Lead singer and producer Rou Reynolds comments on the initiative:
“Grassroots music venues in the UK are under existential threat. Every time we lose another one we lose a vital part of our culture. Bigger venues that benefit from the productive pipeline that grassroots venues provide need to support these smaller venues, as do the artists that have come up through them. Enter Shikari stands with Music Venue Trust in their efforts to bring more solidity and community to our brilliant UK live music scene”.
Enter Shikari have long been noted for their gripping live shows and their ability to hold an audience in the palm of their hands. Multiple ‘Best Live Band’ award wins from the likes of the Kerrang! Awards, AIM Awards and Heavy Music Awards (where they are again nominated this year) – as well as a recent run of residency shows in the UK, Europe, US and Japan that sold out in minutes – say all that needs to be said about what the band’s live connection means to their legions of fans worldwide. And so with new album A Kiss for the Whole World giving them their first UK #1 album, the band have gone to the creative well yet again to devise the most thrilling and unique iteration of what the Enter Shikari live experience can be. Taking on some of the biggest stages they have ever played, Enter Shikari level up their live game once again.
Joining the band on the tour will be a pair of artists established and emerging: Fever 333 and Noahfinnce. Enter Shikari first met Fever 333 vocalist Jason Aalon Butler when they took his former band, LetLive, on tour in Europe in 2011, and Noahfinnce became a firm friend when he supported the band on the first leg of the UK residency shows in February 2023.
Reynolds comments on what could be in store: “We cannot wait to step things up and present a huge new show to everyone. And we’re really looking forward to playing Wembley Arena for the first time! (Enter Shikari are on their way to Wembley. Can you imagine what we’re gonna do to it?). I’m buzzing to see the supports every night, too. We’ve known Jason for many years now, so can’t wait to see the next step for Fever333, and we had a great time with Noah on our residency tour earlier this year so simply had to have him back.”
A Kiss for the Whole World heralds the band’s most vibrant, direct and life-affirming album so far – one that has been a hit with fans and critics alike. Drawing rave reviews from the likes of Clash, Classic Rock, Kerrang!, The Line of Best Fit, Louder, NME, Rock Sound, Rolling Stone UK, The Times and Upset – as well as significant radio support from Absolute Radio, BBC Radio 1, 6 Music and Kerrang! Radio, along with MTV and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch – it has struck a chord with the Enter Shikari faithful as well as welcoming in swathes of new fans.
