LIVE REVIEW | DAISY CASEMORE | PEOPLE’S LEISURE CLUB, EDINBURGH | 18th May 2026 by Taylor Campbell
There were lots of moving parts to Daisy Casemore’s uproarious show at People’s Leisure Club on the 18th of May, a celebration of her time spent performing in Edinburgh over the past four years. Daisy’s lyricism is folksy and intimate, filled with four legged creatures such as‘The Dog’ and ‘Blue Horses’, while her performance itself is furiously emotive. It is hard to imagine that Daisy actually needs her microphone, such is the power of her voice.
Just as soon as the band had bounded onto stage, they had composed themselves for the poignant opening of the show. There was a persistently theatrical undertone to Daisy’s performance, with her lyrics written plainly on her face throughout. The night saw her move through passions of anger and joy – always beaming joy between songs.
One moment saw Daisy hum a nostalgic tune that reminded me of a lullaby. This interlude spiralled outward into a crescendo, with Daisy’s band rising to meet her voice as it soared above. The companionship of these musicians was lovely to see, each egging one and other on toward new improvisational heights. Daisy’s band was made up of Oisin Rice, James Smith, James Veitch, Roan Clawson, Sam Jolley, and Linus Beef, each adding a layer of depth and complexity to her arrangements, violin moving throughout like a second voice. Daisy was later joined by Gordon McGruer of 3P Slot Machine for a duet, followed by saxophonist Raymond MacDonald and The Northern Lights Singers. All mentioned received enormous applause, and though the stage was packed full of artists, it never seemed uncomfortably crowded, with each performer making space for their neighbour throughout.

Daisy has clearly made a real home for herself within the music scene in Edinburgh, ending the night surrounded by friends and supporters in the sold-out People’s Leisure Club. Goodbye, Goodbye, but I am sure not forever, as I know we’d love to have her back!
