This week Scotland’s biggest and most highly anticipated music festival returns to Glasgow’s famous Green. The festival which emerged in 2017 was the brainchild of DF Concerts as an interm solution to fill the gap left by the legendary T in the Park. Yet to return to Scotland, young festival goers now mark TRNSMT on their calendars as the party of the year.

Kicking off on Friday 12th July, the non camping festival will welcome a trio of iconic headliners with Liam Gallagher (Friday), Gerry Cinnamon (Saturday) and Calvin Harris (Sunday). As Team NE prepare a TRNSMT takeover, we share the bands you must check out and who we are most looking forward to seeing.

NORTHERN EXPOSURE PICKS

Our dedicated photographer Hope will be on hand with her camera all weekend to snap the best moments for us, so expect lots of content straight from the pit!

Who are you looking forward to seeing most at TRNSMT?

Calvin Harris on Sunday! It will be the most perfect way to wrap up an incredible weekend!

Who should we be checking out over the other stages?

Definitely Wunderhorse on Friday on the King Tuts stage. Majesty Palm I just love and I’m really looking forward to shooting Nova Twins on Sunday afternoon too, they look insane on stage!

Our amazing writer Morgan will be moving about Glasgow Green throughout the weekend making notes for review and helping out with artist interviews. A keen eye for new music, we can’t wait to see what she reports back in her round up.

Who are you looking forward to seeing most at TRNSMT?

On the main stage I’m excited for Sugababes on Friday, The Mary Wallopers on Saturday and Blossoms on Sunday.

Who should we be checking out over the other stages?

On Friday it has to be Ben Walker over on The River stage. On Saturday afternoon, I recommend Royel Otis who is playing King Tuts stage.

Usually found snapping around the London live music scene for Northern Exposure, Charlie will be coming north of the border to enjoy TRNSMT as an official festival punter.

Who are you looking forward to seeing most at TRNSMT?

On Friday there’s some difficult choices to be made due to clashes. On the main stage I really wanna see Declan McKenna and The Snuts but they clash with Wunderhorse and The Last Dinner Party respectively.

Who should we be checking out over the other stages?

Daydreamers on The River Stage on Sunday should be a good one! Also Somebody’s Child opening King Tuts earlier that same day is on my personal ‘must see’ list.

Anne‘s second year covering TRNSMT for Northern Exposure and hopes to be catching artists for some exclusive interviews alongside enjoying some of her favourite bands – both old and new!

Who are you looking forward to seeing most at TRNSMT?

I’m most looking forward to finally seeing Garbage for the first time on Friday over on the main stage.

Who should we be checking out over the other stages?

Too many to name! I feel the Saturday line-up hasn’t had much of a mention yet so I’m going to say The River Stage is the place to be! Bottle Rockets, Plasticine and headliners Gallus are all amazing local talents. If you can get down early though, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are insane live!

See you all on the Green!!
