Biffy Clyro came together in a school in Kilmarnock, just outside of Glasgow, when childhood friends Simon Neil (vocals/guitar) and twins James (bass/vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums/vocals) started playing music together. United by a love of underground, experimental rock and post-hardcore bands such as Braid and Karate, along with the starrier likes of Guns N’Roses and Metallica, they quickly honed their own unique sound, a mind boggling mix of off-kilter tempos, itchy, unpredictable guitars, soulful choruses and feral screams, sewn together into a strange tapestry of sound that sat resolutely apart anything else being made at the time, both in spirit and geographically too. They have released nine studio albums and their first three were on Beggars Banquet.

The Beggars era set the foundation for Biffy Clyro to become one of the UK’s biggest and most acclaimed bands. 2009’s Mercury Prize nominated ‘Only Revolutions’ dramatically raised the bar for the trio, taking them into the upper reaches of the singles chart, before the double-album ‘Opposites’ became the first of three consecutive #1 records. Consistently broadening their ambitious & eclectic sound, Biffy Clyro have been heralded with multiple NME and Kerrang! Awards, and have been nominated three times for British Group at the BRIT Awards. They’re also a huge draw in the live arena, with unforgettable and multiple festival headline sets at Reading & Leeds, Download, TRNSMT and more. These forthcoming sold-out shows represent a rare opportunity to see the band explore their raucous musical beginnings in uniquely intimate settings.
