A LYRICAL PORTRAYAL OF UNADULTERATED SINCERITY | ‘BANG! BANG! BANG!’ DEBUT SINGLE BY ARCHIE ORME
SINGLE REVIEW | ARCHIE ORME – BANG! BANG! BANG! By Keira Knox
Archie Orme, who was born and raised in Derby, works from the small space of his bedroom studio and aims for simplicity in his work, skilfully fusing traditional elements with a contemporary touch that is distinctive to him. Orme’s sound is a lively blend of jangly guitars, synths, and infectious melodies, with inspiration from legendary bands like The Clash, ABBA, and The Stone Roses.
His ability to combine these components creates a vibrant and avant-garde indie rock sound that is unique in today’s music scene. ‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’ Orme’s debut single does just that. In a time when commercial demands frequently eclipse self-belief, Archie Orme’s unflinching faith in his own talent is both extraordinary and inspirational. He approaches his music with a punk attitude and a refreshing, honest confidence.
Opening with crashing drum beats and 80s infused synths, ‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’ allows Orme’s vocals to take centre stage. Archie Orme is making an impact with his first solo track, which serves as an appropriate beginning to his solo adventure after emerging from The Crooks’ shadows. His lyrical portrayal of unadulterated sincerity strikes a profound chord with his audience. Every single element in this song reflects his unwavering passion for what he does.
Speaking on the track, Orme states : “Overall its an upbeat feel good track, with somewhat contrasting lyrics. It’s basically saying the time for change is now, or else we don’t know what will happen. Which looking back is probably what drove me into this solo project. Because I basically just chose to suck it up, and go for it because making music is what I wanted to do and there’s no better time than the present. However what to change though, is not explicitly written, leaving the listener to build their own connection to it and leaves the track open to interpretation.”
