ALL POINTS EAST’S FREE ‘IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD’ RETURNS TO VICTORIA PARK
In collaboration with Tower Hamlets Council, the free four day event occurs in between two weekends of HUGE music at Uber One presents All Points East with headliners Kaytranada, Loyle Carner, Mitski, LCD Soundsystem, The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie, plus APE Presents Field Day. The highly anticipated community initiative, All Points East’s In The Neighbourhood returns to Victoria Park from 19 – 22 August with an incredible programme of the biggest and best activities and entertainment in London, all of which you can enjoy for FREE!
In The Neighbourhood makes the most of the last weeks of the summer holidays, and is the ideal destination for families and fun-loving Londoners. There will be an eclectic mix of unmissable free activities for all ages, with days dedicated to sport, literature and culture, as well as a day of programming presented by Tower Hamlets. Expect cinema screenings, live music and entertainment, irresistible street food, theatre, dance, sports, panel talks and wellbeing workshops, family activities and so much more.

This year, we’re excited to host an array of fantastic local businesses and vendors in Victoria Park for four days of free activities and entertainment, as well as having BBC 1Xtra and the BBC Asian Network take over the BBC Stage. From dance classes and theatre, to music, sports and our outdoor cinema – there really is something for everyone to enjoy!”
In the mood for getting active? Head down to In The Neighbourhood on Monday 19 August for all things Sport – including yoga, gym sessions and dance workouts. Strongher Gym will be representing – an all-woman workout space in the heart of Bethnal Green, now bringing their women-only strength training, HIIT & flexibility classes to the park. There will be baby sensory classes available and, for the kids, ChisKidsDance will be running workshops, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore movement, build their skills and express themselves. Plus, Limehouse Boxing Academy will be running sessions, and join East London’s own Move Studio for nourishing community classes in pilates, HIIT, and barre.

Tuesday 20 August is Literature day at In The Neighbourhood – if you love books, theatre and poetry, this is not one to be missed. Amongst the many brilliant activities on offer, make sure to catch performances from the East London Shakespeare Festival – bringing joyful, contemporary and professional Outdoor Shakespeare productions to community spaces in East London and now, Victoria Park! There’ll also be a poetry workshop from Off The Chest, who give a platform to poets of diverse backgrounds and celebrate original voices in the UK poetry scene. Plus shows from Tamarind Theatre Rhythmfest, Mukul and Ghetto Tigers, an East London and Dhaka (Bangladesh) based theatre company. The School of Noise is also heading to In The Neighbourhood – take part in their workshops which include exploring the science of sound, playing unusual instruments, composing experimental sound art, conducting orchestras of fruit and vegetables, soundwalks plus so much more.
If that wasn’t enough, In The Neighbourhood’s Culture day on Wednesday 21 August is jam-packed with exciting activities. BBC 1Xtra will be taking over the BBC Stage from the late afternoon, with shows from Nadia Jae, Sian Anderson, Tiffany Calver, and Rampage, with live PA’s from A-MVN, Shakes and more. Enjoy other live performances from the Bollywood Brass Band, and the London School of Samba – who will also be providing drumming and dance workshops. UK-registered charity The Oitij-jo Collective will also be on site, engaging with the community focusing on Bengali culture, arts and beyond, plus local charity Rich Mix, East London’s home for culture and creativity.
Finally, on Thursday 22 August, Tower Hamlets presents a whole load of fun! Taking over the BBC Stage will be the BBC Asian Network, with appearances from DJ Limelight & Kan D Man, Kizzi, PHS & AJD with live PA performances from Mumzy, Nish and more. There’s also yoga from Animo Yoga London and St Margaret’s House, a workshop from Community Music, classes from Strong Mums Club, and so much more.

Across the four days there will be a pop-up from Bikeworks, live children’s theatre from Half Moon Presents, music & play with Orchestra of Objects, plus outdoor sports activities from Lord’s Community Cricket MCC Foundation, West Ham United Foundation, Wapping Kidds Hockey, Gorsefield Outdoor Activities and Girls Allowed Sports Day – with special guest Nicola Adams OBE – Olympic and World Champion Boxer.
One of London’s best free outdoor cinemas returns for another year with another incredible line-up of films for all the family throughout the midweek. The movies on offer include new releases like Mean Girls (2024) and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024), the blockbuster Barbie (2023), and hit adventure film Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves (2023). Grab a picnic blanket and come down early to get your spot!
