LIVE REVIEW | ANDY GRAMMER w/ Jude York | LONDON O2 SHEPHERD’S BUSH EMPIRE 18th May 2025 by Kevin O’Sullivan

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Andy Grammer’s first-ever UK performance at the iconic O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire this week was nothing short of electric. With a massive global following and billions of streams on Spotify, it was a rare treat to see such a renowned artist in an intimate venue. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation even before the first note, as each band member was introduced one by one to increasing applause, setting the stage for Grammer’s grand entrance—greeted by a thunderous roar from the crowd.

Opening the show was TikTok star Jude York. Boasting almost 10 million views, York’s catalogue of songs is described as a “warm hug”. From the outset his stage presence and talent commanded attention from the crowd, a good proportion of which appeared to be there specifically to see him, enthusiastically singing along to his tracks. By the conclusion of his set, even those unfamiliar with his music were swaying and clapping in unison. His blend of heartfelt lyrics and dynamic stage presence suggested a deep connection with the crowd. It’s evident that Jude York is an emerging talent with a promising future in the music industry, his ability to captivate an audience and leave a lasting impression marks him as an artist to watch closely. If his performance at Shepherd’s Bush is any indication, his ascent in the music scene is imminent.

The audience was as diverse as Grammer’s appeal: from young families and teenagers to fans well into their 60s—whom he warmly acknowledged during the set. The connection between artist and audience was immediate and genuine. Every track, from energetic anthems to his more heartfelt ballads, was met with enthusiastic singalongs, showing just how deeply his music resonates.

Grammer’s uplifting lyrics and infectious energy filled the venue, turning the gig into more than just a concert—it was an experience. The emotional high point came with his closing number, the global hit “Don’t Give Up on Me.” As the entire crowd lit up the room with phone torches, it became a communal moment of light, hope, and joy. It was a fitting end to a show that had the whole venue buzzing.

This was one of those special nights where fans will proudly say, “I was there”, having witnessed a global superstar at the top of his game, playing to an adoring crowd in a venue small enough to feel personal but large enough to roar.
