ANDREW CUSHIN PREPARES FOR A MOMENTOUS 2025 WITH NEW ALBUM AND TOUR
Andrew Cushin, championed by musical icons such as Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Sam Fender, and Louis Tomlinson, has certainly lived up to the high expectations set for him. His debut album, “Waiting For The Rain,” enjoyed three weeks at the top of the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart and surged into the Top 10 of both the Independent Albums and Record Store Charts. Cushin’s live performances have also been a significant draw, particularly in his hometown of Newcastle, where he became the youngest Geordie to sell out the City Hall, with 4,500 people attending over two nights. He then headlined the Tyne of the Mouth Festival last summer, further solidifying his rising star status.
But Cushin is just getting started. 2025 promises to be a breakthrough year as he aims to fulfil predictions from Music Week that he will “do a Sam Fender” and achieve even greater success. His second album, “Love Is For Everyone,” is set for release on 2nd May via LAB Records. Cushin has introduced the album with its lead single, “L.I.F.E.,” and announced his next UK headline tour.
“Love Is For Everyone” continues the evolution of Cushin’s sound, building on the boldness of “Waiting For The Rain.” His emotive voice and autobiographical lyrics remain at the forefront, but the music now embraces a wider range of influences, setting the stage for mainstream recognition. The album was produced by Gareth Nuttall, who has previously worked with The K’s and Lottery Winners to chart success.
Cushin reflects on the new album, saying,
“I’ve tried to create this record using influences from the music I listened to growing up as well as a few songs I’m into today. There’s a song for everybody on this record: a folky toe-tapper, anthemic rock ballads, and a few sentimental numbers. Instrumentally, we’ve really picked up the pace and created something people can get their teeth into. I’m really proud of this record, it’s definitely something that I would listen to as a fan!”
“L.I.F.E.” exemplifies Cushin’s potential to connect deeply with audiences. From its powerful introductory beats to Cushin’s robust baritone and the cinematic production, the track is poised to be a standout. Thematically, it encourages listeners to embrace life and celebrate what makes it worthwhile, a shift from his usual observational approach to life’s challenges.
Cushin shares,
“I’ve had the song written for a while now and played it acoustically at several shows. I first started writing it in the USA while touring with Louis Tomlinson, and we played it at a few soundchecks. It’s a great subject matter; everybody has something or someone they love, and I tried to capture that in the lyrics. Instrumentally, it’s a showstopper for sure.”
The single’s video, directed by Luca Rudlin (Lottery Winners, The Reytons), was filmed at the Bridge Hotel in Newcastle, reflecting Cushin’s roots.
“Love Is For Everyone” is now available for pre-order or pre-save. Fans who pre-order from Cushin’s official store will gain access to a pre-sale that started yesterday and will remain open until general ticket sales begin at 10am on Friday, 22nd November.
Born and raised on a council estate in the Newcastle suburb of Heaton, Cushin first gained attention with his self-released debut single “It’s Gonna Get Better” in 2020. His third track, “Where’s My Family Gone,” produced by Noel Gallagher, further propelled his rise. Signing with Peter Doherty’s Strap Originals for his first EP, “You Don’t Belong,” Cushin recorded his debut album with producer Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers) at The Libertines’ Albion Rooms Studio in Margate.
Cushin has toured extensively, performing in arenas across Europe and North America as a special guest to Louis Tomlinson. He has played large outdoor shows with Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Blossoms, Lathums, and The Reytons, and completed a packed UK and Ireland headline tour in 2023. His potential has also been recognised through brand endorsements from Aston Martin, YETI, and Weekend Offender.
2025 is set to be a monumental year for Andrew Cushin as he continues to captivate audiences with his music and live performances.
