This Sunday BBC Radio 1 invite a jam-packed taste of the station to origins of music at Liverpool’s Sefton Park

Previous nights will have included performances from headliners Tom Grennan on the pop party Friday to Sam Fender with their indie feed on Saturday before drawing the velvet curtain on Sunday.

Sunday closes the course with a softer tone, with folk rock dominators Mumford and Sons. Northern Exposure favourite Self Esteem taking the New Music Stage in promotion of her latest album ‘A Complicted Woman’. Whilst Little Mix’s former and recent Best Pop Act winner at the Brits, JADE, pronounces herself as pops cordial invitation of 2025. Across 5 stages, the annual location shifting festival returns to the home of music to remind it of its journey. With Radio 1 anthems weaving themselves through main stage performances alongside podium placing performances from Britain’s most exciting new artists at the smaller tents, there’s something to suit every appetite. Pristinely messy Lola Young is due to make an early afternoon appearance on the main stage Sunday , sandwiched between Radio 1 reoccurring acts Tate McRae and Jorja Smith. Young attended Brit School and has since gone on to voice the cover of ‘Together In Electric Dreams’ for the 2021 John Lewis advert before bursting into the mainstream with her heartfelt and cheeky single ‘Messy’.

Recent addition sibling trio, Haim, announced a surprise performance, after their series of iconic celebrity mimicking posts their mainstream appearance is louder than ever. Their subheadline pop-rock treat should peer a window into their fourth studio album ‘I Quit‘, due to be released June 20th this year.
