BLUDFEST (Charlie Wright / Northern Exposure)

BLUDFEST (Year 2) is now only 1 week away. The triumphant festival is returning to coincide with YUNGBLUD’s most ambitious (double) album yet, on 21st June 2025. This will be his only official UK headline show of 2025, before embarking on an enormous world tour next year. For the second year, Dominic Harrison (aka YUNGBLUD) is bringing along a new wave of friends and industry peers, featuring Blackbear, Denzel Curry, Rachel Chinouriri, JXDN, Peach PRC, Luvcat, Master Peace and Cliffords.

Previous collaborators Blackbear and Denzel Curry will be bringing energetic hip-hop, Master Peace will (of course) be causing a ruckus with his distinctive live performances, whereas there’s also a platform for some of the freshest talent on the scene, like Rachel Chinouriri. This is an incredibly curated lineup that brings together gender, genre and friends of the YUNGBLUD community.

Guitarist Adam Warrington even played a set with Master Peace at Get Together Festival recently, you can read more here.

BLUDFEST originated as one of Dominic Harrison’s many concepts, designed to be more than just a festival, but rather a visual representation of a community and culture. Last year, he brought it to life, creating a safe, affordable, and gender-balanced festival at Milton Keynes’ National Bowl. We were in the midst of the action and watched a beautiful community come together in one space. Overall, YUNGBLUD’s first edition of BLUDFEST was a huge success, and there’s even more in store for Year 2, with rumours of it going global.

YUNGBLUD returned this year with Hello Heaven, Hello. More than four years in the making, the earth-shattering (9-minute) rock epic was to be the beginning of his biggest project to date. The Doncaster-hailing artist has been on a monumental journey since bouncing onto the scene more than 5+ years ago. He’s overcome struggles with mental health, battled with the pitfalls of fame and public image and addressed constant media allegations of authenticity. The mind-bending single takes us through every part of that journey, split across three distinctive segments – most likely one for each album. There is not a moment in this track that you could predict, sliding cleverly from Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin to Queen and Bowie, every influence which made YUNGBLUD so originally exciting is here in abundance. You can read our review here.

Follow-up singles Lovesick Lullaby and Zombie follow similar themes, and we’re seeing the best version of YUNGBLUD we’ve ever seen, making IDOLS an exciting addition to his catalogue. The album is set to be a double album, which is a bold move within the current landscape of music, but an exciting one.
