BLUE VIOLET SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘FIRE’ AHEAD OF ECHOBELLY TOUR

NEW ALBUM ‘FAUX ANIMAUX’ SET FOR JANUARY

Today (31/10), North London alt-indie duo BLUE VIOLET share their latest single, Fire from their forthcoming new album Faux Animaux. The new single comes ahead of their extensive UK tour with 90’s indie favourites Echobelly which kicks off on 15th November.

The new album – set for release 25th January 2025 – will also feature the pairs earlier 2024 singles Boogie Shoes, Imagine Me, Survival and most recently Barefoot On The Seine with each track displaying a different energy from Blue Violet and reflecting on their diverse and eclectic sound. Drawing comparison to bands such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Depeche Mode, Mazzy Star, St Vincent and Cigarettes After Sex, Blue Violet capture something unique yet familiar in their music.

Speaking on Fire, the duo explain:

“It was to draw attention to one of our most basic instincts – desire. The two types of desire that fuel human beings are sexual desire and power and this song is about the relationship between the initial feeling of desire and the way it manifests once it’s acted upon. We use fire to both build and destroy – fire is unruly and difficult to control, as is lust. On first listen it might seem like this is just a sex song but we definitely had in mind the sinister nature of power and how it is obtained. The desire to seek more and more, to build and build, to take and take.”

Faux Animaux will be released on Me & My Records via High Head Recordings on January 24th 2025 and promises to continue Blue Violet’s exploration of rich electronic avenues and with their songwriting as sublime as ever. A band they’re becoming one of the most enthralling underground propositions of the age.

The band will celebrate the release with a special album launch show at The Grace, London on Saturday 25th January – limited tickets available HERE.
