CAMBRIDGE NEWBIES ‘OAKES’ SET TO STORM THE NEW INDIE SCENE | INTERVIEW

SAM SHINER CHATS TO TOM AND KIERON FROM OAKES

One of the freshest faces on the UK indie scene hoping to make a dent is Cambridge’s OAKES. Having experienced some successes with previous band endeavors, the band formed of Kieron (vocals), Tom (drums), Nathan (lead guitar) and Paddy (bass) only formed in 2023. Previously of Sages of The Subway, Tom and Nathan have been best friends since childhood. Tom shares he met Paddy at college and met Kieron (or Kez) when he joined his band ‘The Lucky Lessons’ on drums. After some time, OAKES came about and they have been creating a local buzz worth watching.

Their debut single ‘The One’ was released at the end of last year and since have shared 2 more tracks. Their rapidly growing fan base extend out with their local Cambridgeshire live scene and they looking towards what the future holds for their new band.
