Peat and Diesel brought their distinctive sound to the Glasgow’s Emirates on Thursday, 23rd January, as part of the renowned Celtic Connections festival.

The Seegar Sessions Revival

Opening events were The Seeger Sessions Revival, the band who self proclaim are ‘reviving the magic of Bruce Springsteen‘s legendary Seeger Sessions’. Paying homage to the legendary American folk singer and activist Pete Seeger, the original ‘Seegar Sessions‘ took place in 2006 and to this day, remain a ‘Marmite moment’ for Springsteen fans. Nonetheless, the band on stage presents an interesting start to the night.

Known for their energetic performances and unique blend of traditional and contemporary music, the Stornoway trio band captivated the audience with their lively tunes and engaging stage presence. Fans enjoyed an evening filled with the vibrant spirit of Celtic music, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and modern interpretations that Peat and Diesel embody. The event was a highlight of the festival, showcasing the band’s talent and the enduring appeal of Celtic music in Scotland.

Celtic Connections continue throughout Glasgow until February 2nd with a packed programme of events and live performances including BMX Bandits, The Bluebells, Hunter and McMustard and KT Tunstall, who celebrates 20 years of Eye To The Telescope.
