Chelsea Wolfe hosted an experiential album release show at The Dome in London on Tuesday night to celebrate the release of her ninth full length album, The Dark. The American experimental folk/doom/goth rock and metal singer/songwriter played a full set with her eponymous band, but started the evening with a listen through of the new album, which is released on streaming on Friday, 21st August, ahead of a physical release on 18th September.

Attendees were handed LED candles at the door before entering venue, which was decorated with white sheer fabric for a graveyard-esque vibe. The new album was played over the PA without any introduction while most patrons were still at the bar or the merch table, but by the time the album was finished, nearly 45 minutes later, the crowd applauded and re-organised for the full band set. Chelsea Wolfe treated her fans to an 80 minute set, a mix of older favourites and new tracks from The Dark.

This intimate album launch event comes ahead of Chelsea Wolfe’s full The Dark promotional tour, which now has a full London show scheduled for 17th December at 02 Forum Kentish Town. Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster from Monday, 24th August.
