CLOUD HOUSE REVEAL SECOND SINGLE FROM THEIR BRAND NEW EP

Preparing to unveil their most ambitious project yet is Glasgow based raucous rockers Cloud House. Formed in a hot tub back in 2019, frontman Connor McCarry is no stranger to the spotlight. Having not once, but twice shared the stage with American legends Green Day, it was these early experiences which inspired the decision to form a band.

Taking influence from across the rock genre, Cloud House use an amalgamation of sounds which versify from energy fuelled pop-punk to emotionally guitar driven alternative rock. The later is what Cloud House do best. Deeply impacted by the passing of his mother, Connor floods his vulnerability into their upcoming EP, Still Here. Wearing his heart on his sleeve, Still Here captures a rawness which explores relatable feelings grief, hope and change.

DON’T WANNA TALK

Following the release of the EP’s title track last month, Cloud House have unveiled another layer to their forthcoming 7 track EP out next week (29.09) with new single Don’t Wanna Talk. The track lyrically explores feelings of fear and isolation. Sharing the burden of growing up caring for his chronically ill Mother, Don’t Wanna Talk reads as a statement of somebody who is scared of being hurt again and would rather isolate themselves that face that reality.

“This song is about a journey I used to take as a young boy. My mum was ill throughout my childhood and I cared for her since I was old enough to remember. I always felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders as it was just Mum and I on our own. I used to put on a brave face for her but deep down it was a struggle for me. I wanted to be a kid. I wanted her to get better. I used to get the bus home and go past my stop as I didn’t want to go home quite just yet.”

Don’t Wanna Talk is a song which will resonate with many on some level. Regardless of their own relationship with grief, the theme is still relevent to most.

The lyrical delivery throughout this and previous Cloud House songs is well paced and structured to make high impact music. Enriched with guitar driven energy, the Don’t Wanna Talk opening guitar hook goes on to hold the entire song together. Chanting “I’ve been here before” in the chorus is the real catch or the track. The anthemic style deliverance is a big characteristic here and must take their sound to another dimension when it’s unleashed live.

CLOUD HOUSE ON TOUR

Fans shouldn’t have to wait long to hear these new songs live as they kick off their very own Scottish ‘Don’t Wanna Talk’ home tour. Celebrating the EP release, Cloud House will take on the infamous King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in their native Glasgow on Friday 29th September. Over the course of the week, the five piece band will head Wishaw, Edinburgh and Dunfermline before taking the show south of the border with dates in Leeds and Yeovil.

For a band who didn’t realise their ambition until 2019, Cloud House have made a striking impression on the local music scene. They have supported Scottish Cult Icons Big Country, renowned indie band The Luka State as well as local emerging band Dictator to a sold out St Luke’s last year. Critically acclaimed as ‘Ones to watch’, both Don’t Wanna Talk and Still Here both had their radio debut on BBC Scotland Introducing show known for showcasing the best new talent around.
