EDINBURGH’S JANE FRANCES SHARES RETRO-INFUSED NEW TRACK ‘REBORN & GROWN’

THE SINGLE IS THE LATEST FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM ‘GRACEFUL WANDER’

Following a successful 2023 that introduced two singles from her album ‘Graceful
Wanderer’
, retro-infused pop artist Jane Frances teases more of the collection by
releasing her new single ‘Reborn & Grown’. Having been noticed by Shindig!
Magazine for her previous single ‘Floral Haze’, the Edinburgh based musician is
truly a hidden gem of Scotland that has so much versatility within her music that it is
undeniably appealing to every ear

This track blends a variety of styles in such a smooth manner, pairing alternative folk
with 70’s pop and even flickers of psychedelia mixed through this beautiful song.
Frances describes the meaning behind track as; “A raw and vulnerable insight into
the perpetual journey to find one’s true identity in a complex and ever-changing
world”
. There is a real sense of nostalgia to the song, with hints of a Stevie Nicks
style of tone within the vocals and it immediately grabs your attention with the soft
folky melisma in the first line: “I stand beside you to see your world take shape”.
Frances’ gentle voice coupled with the accompanying vocals and the mellow violin
part all combine to encourage a folky, Scottish element providing an insight into the
roots of this incredible musician.

Beginning with a low sliding note in the bass, the 60’s style tambourine and jangly,
bright guitar licks are brought into instantly shaping the song. The strings within the
track add a varied texture that really produce such warmth and comfort that
compliments the vocal melody allowing the other instruments to nestle gel sweetly
together in a cosy fashion. There is a real storytelling aspect embedded in the lyrics
that begin to build a relationship with the listener, giving the song yet another layer
and a more meaningful listening experience.

“I wrote it about feeling a bit stuck, lost & uninspired & yearning to escape to far flung
places for new inspirations!”
Jane composed this song in a state of restlessness and
longing, something that we have all experienced at some time in our lives, in turn
making this song such a relatable ballad. It is a very raw, authentic reflection that
may mean something different to each person that listens, yet no matter what they
take from it, there is a sense of utmost grace and beauty that ultimately will shine
through regardless.

Through 2024, Jane’s eagerly anticipated album will continue to be released as
individual tracks leading to the final release of the full collection which is sure to
inspire and amaze us all. Whether you are having a cosy evening in, driving with the
windows down in the sun or dancing in the kitchen – without a doubt, this song
should be at the top of your playlist.
