EDINBURGH’S SUMMER SESSIONS SET TO WELCOME OCEAN COLOUR SCENE, THE VIEW AND MANY MORE

Next month, Indie-rock legends Ocean Colour Scene are set to headline Edinburgh Summer Sessions with an all day stellar line up alongside The View, Embrace, Alabama 3, Reverend and The Makers and Republica. Due to take place on Saturday 17th August, Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Showground will be transformed into a spectacular open air arena with the capacity to fit over 20,000 music fans.

Ocean Colour Scene frontman Simon Fowler, guitarist Steve Cradock and drummer Oscar Harrison will perform some of their biggest hits and anthems, including ‘The Riverboat Song’, ‘The Circle’, and ‘The Day We Caught The Train‘. The show comes part of a busy summer for the Birmingham band who will be appearing at Belladrum Festival in Inverness this weekend before a sold out appearance at Kelvingrove Bandstand in Glasgow next week amongst many other dates across the UK.

The View, who rocketed on to the UK music scene in the mid noughties, fresh-faced and ready to rock n roll with their No.1 charting debut album ‘Hats off to the Buskers’, have recently found themselves back at the top of their game with a new top 10 album last year ‘Exorcism of Youth’ and many sold out show across the UK since.

The ‘Gravity‘ famous band Embrace will also take to the stage in Edinburgh next month having scored three number one albums, six top 10 singles, and over three million album sales throughout their career, the band are set to be popular choice for music lovers. Alabama 3 are consistently welcomed by Scottish crowds over the years and fans can look forward to hearing the iconic ‘Woke Up This Morning‘, which rocketed the band’s popularity when it was used as the theme song to HBO’s The Sopranos.

Sheffield’s Reverend and the Makers will treat the Edinburgh crowd to their melodic summer anthems including ‘Heavyweight Champion of The World‘ from their 2007 album debut, alongside tracks from their latest album ‘Heatwave In The Cold North‘ which gained the band their first UK top 10 album in 16 years. Bringing the festival ready hits nice and early will be 90’s icons Republica including the the sing-along anthem ‘Ready to Go’.
