Footsteps Festival is a five day celebration of music in London from 19th-23rd May, held at iconic independent venues Moth Club, Paper Dress Vintage, Scala, Islington Assembly Hall, EartH Theatre and Oslo Hackney. This year saw a stacked lineup including Lunar Vacation, The Vaselines, Swim Deep and many more.

We headed down to Oslo Hackney for the former, Lunar Vacation, supported by Ladylike and Soft Loft. Ladylike are a relatively new artist on the scene, dropping their debut single only last year, but are already a joy to experience live. The same could be said for Soft Loft, who has been around for a while longer and are about to head out on an enormous tour across Europe. Catching both of these artists hammered home the importance of festivals like Footsteps, which shine a light on some of the best upcoming talent.

When it was time for Lunar Vacation, the room was more than ready.“We were listening to Lilly Allen on the way in” the Atlanta band exclaim, before putting on a dazzling show including fan favourites Unlucky and Sick. Their glistening shoegaze and dream-pop serenaded London in the best possible way.

Lunar Vacation bounced around the stage, enjoying every moment of the capital’s crowd, and acknowledging their stellar 2024 album “Everything Matters, Everything’s Fire” which allowed them to headline one of the evenings.

Missed the show? You can catch Lunar Vacation elsewhere this Summer here.
