Following their live debut opening for Fontaines D.C. in Belfast last month – the final stop on the momentous Romance Tour – Dead Dads Club set off on a brief run of UK show. Heading North of the border on Thursday, the band – formerly known as Chilli Jesson – made an upgraded venue appearance from Glasgow Garage Attic to the iconic King Tuts Wah Wah Hut.
For seasoned Fontaines fans though, Dead Dads Club frontman Chilli Jesson is a familiar face already. Having been part of Irish band’s touring band line up for the past few years, Jesson is again ready to unleash his own creativity, over a decade since he first graced the covers of NME.
The frontman first hit early 2010’s success with his former band Palma Violets with chart topping songs such as Best of Friends and We Found Love from their top 20 debut album 180. Yet, when Palma Violets disbanded in 2016, Chilli lost his creative passion, distancing himself with the music that once brought him so much joy. Joining the Fontaines D.C. team has re-egnited that flame and now, we welcome Dead Dads Club.
Dead Dads Club continue their brief UK tour this week with appearances in Bristol, Leeds and London. Final tickets available now.
