JEREMY PRITCHARD, ONEDA AND MORE ANNOUNCED FOR MANCHESTER’S dBs INSTITUTE ‘INDUSTRY WEEK’
Today, dBs Institute of Sound & Digital Technologies has announced the programme for the 2025 edition of ‘Industry Week’; a full week of vital, cross-industry workshops, talks and networking events for students at its state of the art Manchester campus from 10th – 15th February.
Every year, each of dBs’s three campuses opens its doors to some of the most influential and inspiring names in its local industry; hosting a full programme of workshops, talks, Q&As and networking events geared towards introducing its students to the full, ever-changing breadth of the music and sound industries.
For its 2025 edition, dBs’s Manchester campus is set to welcome some of the city’s most exciting and renowned industry figures, opening the doors for students to learn from, and build relationships with those who could change the trajectory of their future careers.
The programme will begin on Monday 10th February with a workshop from OneDa. The Manchester rapper described by The Face as “one of the key MC’s at the forefront of the drum ‘n’ bass renaissance” will host a workshop on the writing and production behind her debut album ‘Formula OneDa’ in the dBs Live Room, before joining fellow Manchester artists Akemi Foxx and J Chambers for the ‘Beyond Beats and Bars’ panel.
Following a performance and walkthrough from Ellen Beth Abdi, Thursday evening will see dBs open to the public as they welcome Jeremy Pritchard of beloved Manchester art rock band Everything Everything for an ‘In Conversation’ session and Q&A, which will be open to the public, followed by networking and drinks.
Speaking about Industry Week, Jeremy Pritchard said: “dBs Institute Manchester has established itself as a hub for creativity and innovation, and I’m absolutely delighted to be invited to take part in an ‘In Conversation’ during their Industry Week. It’s always inspiring to engage with the next generation of artists and creators, and I look forward to sharing insights, ideas, and conversations with such a dynamic community.”
Striving to life the curtain on the many elements of the music industry, the week will also see BBC 6Music’s Chris Hawkins record a live podcast ‘How To DJ’ at dBs, while a live A&R feedback and advice session with Luke Burrowes of Bigger Picture Entertainment will offer students the opportunity to get valuable feedback on their work.
Further essential industry insights include a panel on marketing, branding and PR with Manchester artist Phoebe Green, Katherine Cantwell (Heavenly Recordings) and Beth Parnell (Bandwagon Press), and a panel discussion on Brand Immersion in Games, with Segio Pimentel (Ninja Tune), Scott Fair (Woodwork Music) and Matt Ombler (Games podcaster).
“I am incredibly proud to announce Industry Week at dBs Institute Manchester,” says Damian Morgan of dBs Institute. “As Industry & Employability Lead [North], it’s inspiring to see the exceptional line-up of distinguished guests and dynamic workshops that highlight the outstanding reputation of our Manchester campus within the city’s vibrant creative community. This week celebrates the remarkable creativity, dedication, and talent of our students and staff, and I am genuinely excited to see the connections, inspiration, and opportunities it will generate.”
