JESSIE MURPH GETS INTIMATE WITH FANS OVER TWO NIGHTS IN LONDON

This week American singer-songwriter Jessie Murph played two back to back nights in London’s Lafayette as part of her Cowboys and Angels World Tour. The singer, who rose to fame through the power of tiktok, has enjoyed a whirlwind of success over the past few years and at just 19 years old boasts over 9 million monthly Spotify listeners. Jessie’s debut album ‘Drowning‘ was released last year and this current tour has taken the Tennessee girl across North America, Australia, Europe and now the UK.
We were there to capture night two at London’s spectacular Lafayette.
MACKENZY MACKAY
It was first over to Yorkshire raised singer-songwriter Mackenzy Mackay. Having made London his adopted home, Mackenzy was in good company opening for Jessie Murph tonight. He started his set by asking where
everyone was from and recognising fans that had already been to several tour
dates. He even went on to find the people in the crowd he’d met on the tube earlier in the day. Playing ballads on his electric guitar, he sang his track ‘Fuck Off’ – a song about how he loves to escape the city sometimes. He shared with the crowd about his love for fishing and camping and then went on to say how he was gifted a telescope because he loves the stars. He then performed a song he wrote for his partner for Valentine’s Day named ‘The One That You Call’ which he had then decided to release for his fans.
Mackenzy continued his chatty rapport with the crowd by telling them how he loved going back over songs, releasing acoustic and
alternate versions all before finishing up his set and leaving the stage to Jessie Murph.

Jessie effortlessly blends a range of genres throughout her discography, including
trap, R&B, country and pop. It was a really cathartic night with fans singing
their hearts out to these really emotional songs with fans telling her she saved their lives and her telling them they saved hers. Jessie made sure to interact and hold hands with as many of her fans as possible throughout the evening. At one point
even Facetiming a fans mum as she couldn’t be there tonight but Jessie and her
brother Garrett (guitarist) really appreciated the gesture. The evening was full of upbeat, lyrically heart wrenching songs, displaying the nineteen year old’s vulnerability which is greatly appreciated by the fans.
Jessie Murph entered the stage to ‘Cowboys and Angels‘ while videos of her were
projected onto the screen behind her.
Jessie performed a compilation of ‘Sobriety/ look who’s cryin’ now/ I would’ve‘.
Reaching every note and rapping all the rap verses despite being ill. Carrie – who
has helped write many of Jessie’s songs – was invited on stage to do shots with
Jessie for her birthday with the crowd singing Happy Birthday while Jessie
handed shots out to the crowd. She then revealed that she had lots of unreleased
music coming soon which quickly led into ‘Son of a Bitch‘ a previously unperformed and
unreleased song which shook the fans. Until this point in the tour, Jessie had been performing also unreleased song ‘Wildflowers & Wine‘, at this point in the show.
Jessie performed ‘Texas‘ featuring Maren Texas after asking the crowd if anyone
had an ex from Texas which surprisingly no one did, changing the last “Texas” to
London . Fans were then invited on stage to dance during ‘Wild Ones’, a song
featuring Jelly Roll. The night rounded off with ‘Heartbroken’, a Diplo song
featuring Jessie and Polo G.
Jessie has made quite the impression on her London fanbase this evening. With just two more dates to go in Glasgow (19/02) and Dublin (20/02), Jessie will no doubt be looking forward to a bit of down time now but for her loyal fans, they will be eagerly awaiting her return.
