Returning for the first time since 2024, Arizona emo icons Jimmy Eat World have announced a handful of UK dates for next year, including Halifax and Cardiff and culminating with their biggest ever UK show to date at London’s Gunnersbury Park on Sunday 16 August 2026, with all shows celebrating the 25th anniversary of their classic fourth studio album,Bleed American.

Jimmy Eat World will be joined by some very special guests including political punks Rise Against, who released their tenth album, Ricochet‘, earlier this year, The Get Up Kids, returning to the UK following their 2024 tour in support of their own classic album, Something To Write Home About(1999) turning 25, and indie-pop sensation Jay Som (Cardiff and London only) making for a can’t miss experience!

The shows will be the first time many UK fans will be able to hear Bleed Americanperformed live in full, though Jimmy Eat World will of course include hits and rarities from across their extensive catalogue during the shows.

Bleed American stands as a landmark album within the emo scene that helped push alternative rock into the mainstream, cementing Jimmy Eat World as pioneering artists of the early 00s music scene. The album has been certified Platinum in the US and Gold in the UK, with the essential single ‘The Middle‘ surpassing 1 Billion streams on Spotify, placing it in the Billion Streams Club. The record was not only a commercial breakthrough but also a creative touchstone for a new wave of bands, with artists including Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday and The Wonder Years citing the album as a major influence. The iconic album artwork showing a set of bowling trophies sitting on top of a cigarette machine was taken from revered American photographer William Eggleston‘s photograph ‘Memphis‘, chosen by vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Jim Adkins to cover the album, as a big fan of Eggleston’s work.

Adkins says: “When we printed the last mix of ‘Bleed American‘, we felt like we had achieved something great for ourselves. There was no barometer of how it would connect with people outside of the studio and we are still in awe with the life the record and songs have had since their original release. ‘Bleed American‘ is as much yours as it is ours, so we want to celebrate it with you all in a very special way.”

Jimmy Eat World have most recently released their ‘Something(s) Loud‘ EP on vinyl, collecting together previously digital only songs ‘Somethings Loud’, ‘Call To Love‘ and ‘Place Your Debts‘ as well never-before-release-song ‘Failure‘, which was originally recorded in 2019 during the ‘Surviving‘ sessions. The band are currently in the studio working on new music. Order the EP from the Jimmy Eat World store https://www.jimmyeatworld.com/.
