JOIN THE MOVEMENT, KATE NASH, DANNY DYER, LAMBRINI GIRLS, MATT SMITH, SOFTPLAY, EDGAR WRIGHT, AND MORE INVITE FANS TO HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF LIVE MUSIC!

A dynamic range of the UK’s most beloved musicians, actors, directors, and others are rallying together to ask all music enthusiasts to participate in the first-ever Music Fans’ Voice survey. This initiative is built upon the Culture, Media & Sport select committee’s recommendation for a Fan-Led Review of live and electronic music.
The Music Fans’ Voice survey provides gig-goers, ravers, and festival lovers with an opportunity to voice their opinions on which areas of live music matter most to them. The findings will offer fans a data-driven seat at the table, influencing decisions in Government, the music industry, and city regions around the UK on how to support all areas of live music. Here’s what some of the artists and directors had to say in support of the survey:
Kate Nash: “The invisible thread that exists between fan and artist is the closest thing to magic I’ve ever felt. They’re often at the venue before we are, they wave and watch us leave as we drive onto the next one and they’re usually the first people to ask how they can help you. Quite obviously, they are an integral part of what we do as artists, and I feel very passionately about music fans being involved in what the future of my industry looks like.”

Actor, Danny Dyer: “We are living in an age of hate, but this is a time where people need to come together. So, we need you to do this survey, click on the link, it’s important, data is important, it makes people listen, let’s start owning it again. Live music’s important, it’s ingrained in our soul, click the link, I love yous, let’s f-king own music again.”
Jordan Stephens, Rizzle Kicks: “People finding community in crowds and rooms, with sounds and noise and closeness and shared interests, is an essential human requirement, and anything preventing or limiting or creating a barrier from that magic occurring desperately needs to change. In order for that to happen – the people need to be heard.”
Phoebe Lunny, Lambrini Girls: “Artists rely more on fans than fans do on artists. That connection is everything. Touring can feel isolating – long hotel stays, endless van rides, and time away from loved ones. Shows provide a small window for connection. Meeting fans, hearing their stories, and sharing values creates a sense of community that the industry often lacks. Not only do we owe our growth to our fans, but also a source of support that really does actually stop me from going mad sometimes. Despite how transactional the music industry is, that is something you just can’t buy.”
Softplay: “Our fans are everything. We simply wouldn’t be able to exist without them, it’s that simple. We want to hear from the people who make our job possible and know what they think.”

Black Honey: “You guys know more than anyone what changes can help to improve this industry. Without your pov, the industry is left guessing and speculating (and we all know how well letting one random dude in a suit who’s never been to more than 10 shows has gone.) Your power gave us these careers, so imagine your collective impact on the future of music. When they did this in football, it made the biggest changes in 25 years. Give us your thoughts. It’s making change.”
Nina Nesbitt: “As an artist who started out uploading songs to YouTube from a small village in Scotland, with no prior industry connections, my relationship with my fans has always been the most important to me. I wouldn’t be where I am without them, as they’ve followed and supported me on my journey throughout the years. Live music has always been a big part of my career and is undoubtedly what has allowed me to connect to my listeners on a deeper level. I’d love to hear from the people whose voices matter the most.”
Sam Duckworth, Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly: “If music makes the world go round, then music fans are the axis on which it spins. Without the fans, it’s a whole different landscape. This is an opportunity for those voices to be heard and respected in a way not recognised before. The brighter future puts the fan at the centre of the picture, and I am grateful to those in government and industry who have given them this vital seat at the table.”
The survey is managed independently by CGA/NiQ and will run from February 3rd to March 3rd, 2025. Various city authorities and councils have supported this initiative to ensure fans’ voices are heard. Fill it out here Music Fans’ Voice Survey
