The Role Model show at Birmingham’s O2 Institute was packed with energy, personality, and a crowd full of cowboy hats and boots. Opening for him was the talented Matilda Mann, who set the mood perfectly with her enchanting voice and relatable lyrics. She captured the audience’s attention effortlessly and even gave us a sneak peek into her own music, getting everyone excited for her upcoming ‘Roxwell’ 2025 UK and Europe tour, named after her upcoming same tilted, debut album, coming the 28th of February 2025. 

The main act, Role Model, lived up to every bit of the hype. His charisma and humor were on full display, with fans waving interactive signs and throwing themselves into every moment. He leaned into the night’s playful vibe, with the audience getting in on an inside joke as he repeatedly “sang espresso”; a fun twist that became a hilarious theme throughout the night. Role Model also had a laugh over his recent “nomination” as the “sexiest man alive” which drew some good-natured cheers from the crowd. 

Role Model’s setlist was packed with energy and crowd favorites, creating a real connection with the audience. He started with high-energy tracks to set the mood and included a good mix of his classic hits and newer songs, keeping fans engaged throughout. Tracks like “Scumbag” “Look At That Woman” and “Deeply Still In Love” had the crowd singing along loudly, especially the 1975 cover of “Somebody Else”. 

As he closed the night, Role Model left everyone buzzing—a reminder of his talent for creating spaces where fans feel connected, not only to him but to each other. The No Place Like Tour truly lived up to its name in Birmingham, leaving everyone with memories to savor until his next visit.
