LOTTERY WINNERS AND STONE CONFIRMED TO HEADLINE THIS FEELING BY THE SEA | THE UK’S LEADING ROCK ‘N’ ROLL WEEKENDER IN 2025

This Feeling By The Sea has become an essential weekender on the festival calendar, a celebration of the indie-rock scene that brings together a community of artists and fans from right across the UK. From star names to hotly-tipped talent, This Feeling has been an essential part of every band’s achievements. 2025’s event will see headliners Lottery Winners and STONE power into the beautiful seaside Bridlington Spa venue on August 29th-30th, accompanied by a bill packed with rising talent.

Friday headliners Lottery Winners have risen to become a leading light on the UK alternative scene, landing a #1 for their Gold-certified third album ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’ and playing to more than 500,000 people in 2024 alone – including stadium shows with Robbie Williams. They’re now set to raise the bar once more with the release of their new album ‘KOKO’ on March 21st. Promising their most adventurous and infectious set to date, the record features special guests Reverend & The Makers, Shed Seven, Frank Turner and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger.

Lottery Winners vocalist/guitarist Thom Rylance says, “This Feeling is one of the most important promoters for grassroots music. They give tons of bands their first gig, their first festival, their first headline, their first sellout. Playing this show was a no-brainer; it’s a beautiful location, a great lineup, and a great promoter that we really respect.”

The rest of the Friday lineup is just as essential. It’s led by Stanleys, a fellow Wigan band and the north-west’s next wave hopes, and Finn Forster, who has been compared to Paolo Nutini, is the first signing to EMI North label Interval Records. The day is completed by Tom A. Smith, who has been tipped for greatness by Elton John, plus rising local heroes Sunbeam and the raucous punch of Sheffield lads CRUZ.

Saturday night headliners STONE are a force of nature. You can’t take your eyes off frontman Fin Power, his irrepressible charisma, boundless energy and rabble-rousing antics, making them one of the UK’s most essential live bands, recently seen on tour with Jake Bugg. Their music lives up to that rush as shown on last year’s acclaimed debut album ‘Fear Life For A Lifetime’. Expect a manic cocktail of indie-pop anthems, post-punk intensity and vulnerable acoustic tracks, all with a hip-hop undercurrent.

STONE say, “Playing This Feeling By The Sea at Bridlington Spa is a true honour. I remember being supported by This Feeling in our early days, so to headline one of their festivals this summer is an absolute pleasure. We can’t wait. We’ve never played a spa before, but we’ve been in a couple. Bring a towel and some tanning lotion.”

The rest of Saturday will deliver a succession of highlights. The Lilacs inspire a fervent reaction, as demonstrated with their recent sold-out Manchester O2 Ritz and gigs with James and The Sherlocks. Meanwhile, The Covasettes play indie-pop with a sun-kissed melancholy atmosphere perfect for a summer festival. There’s also essential jangle-pop from Modern Sky’s Keyside and Lock-In, who are set to play their biggest London show to date at Dingwalls, and soulful, ‘70s-tinged timelessness from Eighty Eight Miles.

Meanwhile, the Acoustic Stage offers a change of pace with intimate, stripped-back sets. Catch Michael Gallagher and Harriet Rose on Friday and Dylan Robert and PG Ciarletta on Saturday.

Three members of the This Feeling family will complete the weekend. Fenners will host the entire weekend, while BBC Introducing’s Jericho Keys and Radio X’s John Kennedy will DJ on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
