PALAYE ROYALE ‘A NIGHT TO REMEMBER’ AT SOLD OUT LEEDS SHOW
LIVE REVIEW | PALAYE ROYALE – LEEDS BECKETT STUDENT UNION | 8th November 2025 by Nora Toth
As part of Palaye Royale‘s ‘Death or Glory‘ UK tour, they performed at Leeds Beckett Students’ Union on the 8th of November to a sold out crowd of excited fans. The Molotovs took stage shortly after doors opened, playing a fantastic set of songs from all over their discography- including some from their upcoming album which is coming out at the start of 2026. During the break between The Molotovs and The Hunna, the crowd filled up completely. The Hunna bringing a whole lot more energy, being known by the majority of the crowd as they moshed and screamed the lyrics back to the very energetic lead singer.
By the time Palaye Royale took stage, there was no spare room, fans showed up. A surprisingly small venue for such a big band but the fans absolutely did not disappoint. For those who may not know, Palaye Royale is a three-piece band of brothers: Remington Leith (singer), Sebastian Danzig (guitarist) and Emerson Barrett (pianist), have been a band since 2008. They released their latest album ‘Death or Glory‘ last August, followed by a lengthy US tour, Europe tour and now finally arriving in the UK, ending the ‘Death or Glory’ era, before heading over to Australia in December as part of ‘Good Things Festival‘.
Near the start of the show, we were told the unfortunate news that singer Remington Leith had woken up with no voice, but had worked to slightly regain it during the day. He explained that he absolutely did not want to cancel a show but would need help from the audience during the set, which the crowd was more than happy to do. This news however did in no way get in the way of the energy of the show- from both the crowd and the band themselves. The mosh pits were endless, almost every song had the crowd jumping up and down, screaming the words to each song. Both Remington Leith and Emerson Barrett joined in the mosh pits, with Leith even crowd surfing using an inflatable boat during the outro of the song ‘You’ll Be Fine‘.
The setlist itself made complete sense for the tour, as it is to show off their newest album. It had a great mix of songs from ‘Death or Glory‘, ‘Boom Boom Room (Side A)‘ (and Side B), ‘Fever Dream‘ and of course their most well known album ‘The Bastards‘. They played mainly upbeat songs that fans can sing/scream along to, but never forgetting their most iconic song ‘Lonely‘. I do however wish the set was longer and included more songs from their album ‘Fever Dream’, as it is my personal favourite album from them and some of them would’ve worked really well with their set.
All in all, the show was so amazing energy wise. The crowd was just the right amount of rowdy where everyone could have good fun but no one got hurt, I would definitely say this was one of the best shows I have been to this year.
