PASSENGER MARK ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF ALL THE LITTLE LIGHTS WITH SPECIAL ONE OFF SHOW

GUEST APPEARANCES FROM FOY VANCE, GABRIELLE ALPIN, NINA NEBSITT & ED SHEERAN

Passenger celebrated the release of the anniversary edition of his album “All The Little Lights” at London’s Union Chapel on Wednesday night.

The venue was a stunning setting for the intimate album launch show, boasting beautiful architecture and unmatched acoustics – with Passenger singing off-mic at parts of the gig.

Early in the show, he surprised fans by bringing out Foy Vance to perform “Life’s for the Living”, which was a lovely way to really set the tone of the show. The surprise guests didn’t stop there though, as Gabrielle Aplin took to the stage for “Circles”, and Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt came on for “Feather on the Clyde”. The guests are all features on “The Little Lights (Anniversary Edition Deluxe)”, so it was a real treat to see these performances live.

In addition to these special duets, Passenger wowed the crowd with performances of popular songs like “Holes” and “The Wrong Direction”. His charismatic personality was apparent throughout, with regular banter with the crowd and a genuine, humble manner when talking about how special the night felt.

He also made a point of talking about his roots, telling the audience how he used to play to pub crowds of no-more than 14 people (including bar staff), and how this was the album that changed everything for him.

The post-Covid gig culture has been a hot topic in recent months, however Wednesday nights crowd were truly one of the best I’ve experienced. There were far fewer phones in sight, and you could hear a pin drop during the quieter moments of the show. Of course, when asked to stand up and sing along, the audience certainly delivered, and the intimate setting made this feel all the more heartwarming. It truly showed what live music is all about – bringing a crowd of people together to enjoy a performance and have a good time.

As part of the encore, and to round off the special guests for the night, Passenger invited the one and only Ed Sheeran to the stage for a stunning duet of “Let Her Go”.  The performance was breathtaking, and had the whole venue singing along.

Overall, the launch show was a stunning evening, and a perfect way to celebrate the anniversary release of his album. You can rewatch the show here, and he returns to the Union Chapel on December 14th for the Never Fade Christmas Party in aid of War Child.
