PREGOBLIN NEW SINGLE ‘NOBODY LIKES ME’ OUT NOW
PREGOBLIN have released new single “Nobody Likes Me” featuring Jessica Winter as a special guest vocalist. The single was released via Strap Originals. It was premiered on Lauren Laverne’s BBC6 show and can be streamed or purchased here: Nobody Likes Me
The song “Nobody Likes Me” has a catchy and rebellious phrase in its lyrics, making it a fun disco-pop tune. It is the third single to be released from the upcoming album PREGOBLIN II, which will be available on February 23rd, 2024. The previous singles for the album were “These Hands AKA Danny Knife” featuring Peter Doherty and “Big Hitters” featuring Armand Schaubroeck.
The music video for “Nobody Likes Me” was directed and filmed by Alex Sebley, Phoebe May Ford, and Sophie at Coppin at Cheybassa Lodge, a rest home located on Hayling Island in Portsmouth.
Says Alex: “Recently I was caring for my mum, in the last few months of her life, and this video kind of fits with that experience. My friend Vicki Knight is a nurse at a local care home and she gave me the idea. I would see Vicki at the pub between visiting with my mum.”
This album is packed with sublime melodies and unforgettable tragi-comic lyricism. It was recorded in Brixton and Margate and is available now for pre-order on vinyl and CD here: PREGOBLIN II
PREGOBLIN, who have toured with Peter Doherty and recently sold out their own headline shows at the Windmill in London and Left of the Dial Festival in Rotterdam, will be playing a series of shows in November and December. The tour dates are as follows:
NOVEMBER
28th Tuesday Paris Le Trabendo (with Peter Doherty & Lias Saoudi) TICKETS Paris
DECEMBER
7th Thursday Manchester YES (The Basement) TICKETS Manchester
8th Friday Glasgow SWG3 Poetry Club TICKETS Glasgow
15th Friday London Third Man TICKETS London
The journey to get to this point creatively has been complicated and often difficult. Way back in the early 2010s, Sebley was already showcasing his talent alongside Lias and Nathan Saoudi in The Saudis, which was a chaotic pre-Fat White Family band where he played guitar and co-wrote raw, post-punk songs, including FWF’s hit song “Touch The Leather.” However, he left the band just when it was starting to gain popularity.
PREGOBLIN II is an unusual name for a debut album. It was created by Alex Sebley, also known as PREGOBLIN, and consists of a collection of heartfelt and catchy songs. The album had a difficult and lengthy birth, but Alex finally hopes its release will mark the start of a new, more positive chapter in his life – a sequel to all the adversity and negativity he has faced so far, hence the title.
PREGOBLIN receive a healthy 50,000 plays a month on Spotify. Previous singles include: Combustion which to date has amassed 2.2M streams and was dubbed ‘Single of the year’ last year in The Quietus. Other PREGOBLIN songs include Anna (flowers Won’t Grow), Love Letters, Snakes & Oranges and Wimpy & Wimpy Lovewith the Pop Group.
