On the 28th September 2024, Float Along festival returns to Sheffield, bringing its perfectly curated mix of post-punk and psychedelic rock back to the city for another year. With one half of Strange Days (known for their work with Black Country, New Road and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard) promoting and running the festival – it is expected that the calibre of talent set to grace the line-up of Float Along will be none other than brilliant.

Headlining this year’s festival, the mighty Shame will take to the main stage alongside the likes of Anthony Szmierek and Fat Dog – topping an extraordinary bill of incredible artists and bands. One of the artists we’re looking forward to this year are Crack Cloud – a Canadian-based band focused around the experimental movements surrounding art-punk. Referring to themselves as ‘healing mechanism’ for each other, the band recently released their third studio album ‘Red Mile’, which was coined ‘aggressively tuneful rock’ by the Guardian and ‘a landmark in perseverance and song-crafting’ by Indie Is Not A Genre. It’s safe to say that partnered with their dynamic stage presence – Crack Cloud are a perfect addition to the 2024 Float Along line-up.

Furthermore, South-London’s answer to post-punk Shame top the bill this year, set to bring their electrifying live performance to the main stage and quite possibly tear the roof off. It cannot go unnoticed that the success of their debut album ‘Songs Of Praise’ set the band up for inevitable success, with their sophomore album ‘Drunk Tank Pink’ drawing equal attention and their latest release ‘Food For Worms’ (2023) elevating them to the incredible platform they have now. With a frontman like Charlie Steen, the whole world is your oyster – an ethos Shame continue to prove time and time again.

Not to mention, on the back of their brilliant debut album ‘WOOF.’, Fat Dog also join the line-up at this year’s Float Along festival. Releasing one of the most anticipated albums in their genre this year, all eyes are on Fat Dog. With questions being asked such as ‘what will they do next?’ ‘where are they headed?’, it’s safe to say that their slot at Float Along will be widely watched by many festival goers, eager to hear the new material live and in the flesh. Both live and in the studio, Fat Dog are a band that fail to disappoint.
