THE SCOTTISH SONGBIRD RELEASES NEW TRACK AHEAD OF UK/IRELAND TOUR

Soul-baring, country-pop-that-won’t-quit with a pick-you-up message for anyone
feeling out of sorts and out of place, Rianne Downey returns with the beautifully
reflective, fiercely assured single, Beautiful View just as a mind-blowingly
momentous year for the sweet-singing songwriter nears its end. The release hits
playlists as her extensive 15 date UK & Ireland Tour gets underway, a three-week
journey that culminates in her biggest solo, Scottish homecoming show to date.

Having headed back into the studio full of inspiration in her adopted home city of
Liverpool
after a busy summer of memorable festival dates, Downey’s commitment
to marrying the most infectious of melodies to her warm-embrace vocals, telling
infectious, deeply personal stories of growth, pride and resilience, can be heard all over Beautiful View. Plugged in on long tour bus journeys to Taylor Swift and Kacey
Musgraves
, all-conquering queens of the country-to-pop crossover, while writing her
newest material, the track appears to set a firm course for Downey’s next, hotly-
anticipated moves.

Finding versions of herself in the rear-view mirror as her journey, from unsure, social
media-borne, home-recording sensation to the glowing focus of a blooming fan
base’s affections, gathers unstoppable momentum, Beautiful View’s poignancy
comes with no small sense of stirring pride.

“This song is about my journey, from being a lost teenager from a small town, with the odds and her own mind against her, to finding my feet and achieving things I didn’t think possible. It’s about the ups and downs of growing up, self-doubt and leaving home. For most creatives, imposter syndrome can stop you from being able to see what you’re capable of and ‘Beautiful View’ is about taking a moment to see what’s in front of you and realising you’ve got all you need.”

Raising the curtain on this year with a sold out UK tour and raft of new material,
culminating in the release of her third EP, Method To My Madness – buoyed by
statement singles including the bold beats of Dancing In The Rain – few, including
Downey, could have imagined what more would lay in store. On top of appearances
at festivals including Glastonbury, Kendal Calling and Belladrum plus big stage
debuts at TRNSMT and Latitude Festivals, Downey was invited by legendary
singer-songwriter, Paul Heaton to sing his solo, Beautiful South and Housemartins hits alongside him throughout a busy summer of headline
performances.

Having already opened her current tour with a low-key warm-up in Lincolnshire last
weekend, Downey looks forward to the remaining 14 dates of her journey to the UK
& Ireland’s major cities
with her full touring band, before arriving back home for a
1000-capacity celebration at Glasgow’s SWG3 in early December.
