On Friday night, rising talent Shay O’Dowd played a remarkable hometown headline debut at a sold out Glasgow’s King Tuts Wah Wah Hut. Selling out the iconic venue – renowned for launching the careers of many now household names – before he even released his first single, there’s a real buzz about what’s in store for O’Dowd.

On the supporting duties was local alt pop talent, Abbie Gordon. Recently hinting at some exciting new music on the horizon, the highlight of her set was a delightful piece titled ‘Guilty Pleasure’. This song has quickly become a fan favorite, showcasing both her unique style and captivating lyrics. Then there was a creative mashup that combined the infectious energy of Chappell Roan‘s ‘Red Wine Supernova’ with the timeless classic ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’. This innovative blend not only highlights her versatility as an artist but also promises to resonate with a wide audience, making her upcoming releases something to eagerly anticipate.
