SMR 25: THE LAMEX STADIUM SET TO HOST THREE MASSIVE HEADLINE SHOWS THIS WEEKEND

If you have yet to make your late May Bank Holiday Weekend plans, then SMR 25 might just be your calling. The three-day series of shows takes place this weekend – 23rd, 24th and 25th May at the The Lamex Stadium in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
This year three major headline shows are set to take place, offering a diverse line up for all kinds of music fans. Kicking off on Friday 23rd May, veteran Welsh metalheads Skindred will be bringing their reggie infused alternative rock hits to the big stage. With incredible support from Bob Vylan, Those Damn Crows and Snayx, Friday is set to be a hot one!
If that all sounds a bit too heavy for you though, Saturday is all about feel-good summer pop music. Headlining the show is the sensational Ella Henderson. Since her breakthrough No.1 single ‘Ghost’ 10 years ago, Ella has went on to go multi-platinum, a two-time Brit Award nominee and gain over a billion streams! Warming up the pop crowds on Saturday will be JP Copper, SIGALA and EIRRA.
Without sounding too bias, SMR Festival may have left the best to last. On Sunday 25th May, genuine rock royalty will be gracing the Lamex Stadium when the legendary Richard Ashcroft headlines. The Verve frontman really needs no introduction here (although if you need one – here’s a full feature just for the man himself), and his appearance in Stevenage this weekend will be just one of 3 performances before he goes on to support the Oasis reunion shows this summer. With new music teased imminently, Ashcroft fans can expect to get a sneak peak of what’s to come this weekend. Sunday’s classic Indie line-up is complete with support from The Zutons, The Futureheads and Optimist.
SMR 25 is held at The Lamex Stadium, Broadhall Way, Stevenage, SG2 8RH. Transport to Stevenage is easy (27 mins from St Pancras) with good links from anywhere in the country. For more info check out SMR Festival website
