Half British / Spanish songstress Nadia Sheikh releases brand new EP “Neverending Trial” on 22.9.23 and announces UK and Spanish tour dates.
Featuring singles “The Shadows”, “Neverending Trial” and “Don’t Give It Up”. Nadia’s new body of work hits you at the core, with beautiful and delicate vocals, powerful anthemic guitars and melodies that stick with you for days. Full of musical and lyrical depth, the 6 songs that form the EP touches on themes of heartbreak, anxiety and depression, women’s visibility in today’s world and self-doubt.The final reveal “Fighting For Air” showcases the darker side of the EP. A song about feeling trapped in a lingering darkness, the song speaks of the artists’ struggles with anxiety: “Silent whispers, cold fingers, a soul stuck in an endless winter” and “I’m fighting for air, I’m holding on to the weakest flare”.
NEVERENDING TRIAL
Produced by Joe Cross (Louis Tomlinson, Courteeners, Hurts…), the singles have already received widespread support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, Radio 3 (Spain), Planet Rock, Fresh On The Net, TikTok editorial New Music and Alt + Indie playlists, and Spotify’s editorial playlist “Noteable Releases” among others.
In this new era, Nadia continues to work with collaborators Rowan Davies (bass) and George Gardiner (drums).
“I’m extremely happy and also somewhat relieved to be letting this EP into the world. When you’re creating a body of work like this, specially being an independent/DIY artist, it can take a long time from conception to release but it’s finally out and I’m so happy to showcase what we’ve been working on for so long. This EP is another footmark of my experiences, thoughts and the collaboration with Rowan and George and the people that helped make it; and it’s also another stamp of this crazy rollercoaster journey that is the creative path. Life can sometimes feel like a constant uphill climb, a never-ending trial, but you have to remember to enjoy the view and I hope this EP can feel like home for anyone struggling” says Nadia.
