SPOTLIGHT – THE MOONLANDINGZ

Excitement is already skyrocketing as Get Together gears up for its milestone fifth anniversary on May 17, 2025, at Kelham Island, Sheffield.

The anticipation hit a high yesterday when The Moonlandingz announced their return to the stage at the festival. They continue to be one of the most influential bands in the modern music scene, celebrated for their innovation and electrifying live performances and I just can not wait.

Now for those of you who aren’t familiar with the band (get from under that rock), The Moonlandingz were originally a fictitious band formed by members of the Fat White Family and Eccentronic Research Council for the latter’s concept album. The Moonlandingz immediately established a distinctive niche for themselves. However, they chose to stay together as a legitimate band, incorporating their own styles and inspirations into their music, because of the favourable reaction and good vibes among the members. The result was a diverse sound that grasped me from the very moment I heard “Man in my Lyfe” (immersive yourself in all it’s respective glory below).

The Moonlandingz are well-known for their spectacular live performances, and once you see a show, you’ll understand why. This band focuses as much on the visuals and atmosphere as they do on the music. Their performances combine dramatic aspects with a strong musical delivery, taking you on a full-blown sensory assault that is absolutely mind blowing. Their status as one of the most engaging live bands in the music industry isn’t an accolade given lightly; it has been cemented through their powerful stage presence and ability to create an unforgettable experience for their audience.

The Moonlandingz have developed their creativity and gained fresh viewpoints as the result of their partnerships with a variety of artists, including well-known individuals like Sean Lennon. Together with these collaborations, their experimental approach to music creation has impacted a new generation of musicians. The band continues to influence the music industry by consistently pushing the limits of what music can be.

There are so many things I love about The Moonlandingz’s but it is their unique and sometimes eccentric fashion sense, that is one of their most striking characteristics. They are known for their daring and unconventional wardrobe choices, with the band members combining avant-garde, glam, and retro styles.

The distinctive way they dress accentuates their stage presence and complements their eclectic music, making their concerts visually and acoustically fascinating. Lias Saoudi, the frontman of The Moonlandingz, is so eccentric and his theatrical stage antics (which sometimes include gluing objects to himself) adds an extra layer of visual intrigue and unpredictability to their performances.

The Get Together Festival, known for its diverse lineup and vibrant atmosphere, will feature The Moonlandingz at the multi-venue event, set in the historic Kelham Island. It promises a day of eclectic performances, culinary delights, and artistic exhibitions. The festival’s fifth anniversary is poised to be a landmark event, with The Moonlandingz’ performance being one of the most anticipated highlights.
