STIRLING SET TO WELCOME GLOBAL SUPERSTARS FOR FIRST ‘SUMMER SESSIONS’

SHANIA TWAIN, TOM JONES, JAMES ARTHUR AND BUSTED TO HEADLINE FOUR DAY MUSIC EVENT

The ‘heart of Scotland’ and ‘gateway to the highlands‘, Stirling is delighted to be hosting their first ever Summer Sessions this month. With shows set to take place at the foot of the historic Stirling Castle at City Park from 27th June – 2nd July, Stirling Summer Sessions will welcome a selection of world-renowned artists for lovers of varying music genre.

The newest member of the renowned Summer Sessions family, the city of Stirling is an idealistic setting for the ever expanding music extravaganza hosted across the UK. With the backdrop of the famous famous 12th Century Castle on one side and the charming views of The Trossachs in the other, Stirling’s City Park is situated only minutes walk from their bustling city centre. For their first run, Stirling will welcome James Arthur, Busted, Tom Jones and Shania Twain as headliners.

The show begins on Thursday 27th June with X-Factor Winning and No.1 charting pop star James Arthur. On the evening, James will be joined by double crowned Eurovision Swedish singer Loreen, Scotland’s own Fatherson and former Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Cammy Barnes. With over 38million monthly listeners on Spotify, collaborations with Rudimental and Ann-Marie to name but a few, James Arthur is set to be a firm favourite for pop fans across the country.

The following night, Friday 28th June, is one for the rock fans with noughties chart-topping pop-punk trio Busted, bringing all the nostalgia feels to Stirling’s City Park. With support on the night coming from the sensational rock’n’roll icons The Darkness, Icelandic singer Dadi Freyr, SOAP (previously known as The Tyne) who joined Busted on tour last year and Chester based indie Quartet Muddy Elephant. Celebrating over 20 years of Busted, the band recently wrapped up a massive 15 date arena tour proving there’s still an appetite for this seasoned musical trio.

Sunday 30th June will see veteran crooner and all around legend Tom Jones hit the stage for what is set to be an unbelievable evening of classic sing-a-long hits. Not only from the Welsh singer himself, but from his all star line-up including Gabrielle, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Stone Foundation. All iconic headliner worthy artists in their own right who will surely have the the entire audience dancing the night away.

Finally, on Tuesday July 2nd, the biggest name to be gracing Stirling’s Summer Sounds line-up this freshman year is Shania Twain. The 5 times Grammy Award winning Global Superstar is set for a mega summer this year with multiple appearances across the UK and Ireland, however, this is the only chance to catch Shania north of the border. Set to embark on another momentous Las Vegas Residency this year, Shania Twain truly is one of the biggest stars in the world. Warming up the evening will be the baritone beauty which is Rag’n’Bone with his hits such as Human and Giant.
