Last week The infamous Brian Jonestown Massacre brought their rambunctious live show to Edinburgh’s O2 Academy.

Opening the show were Edinburgh “supergroup” Scorpio Leisure. Ricky from The Brian Jonestown Massacre joined them on stage for the last 2 songs of their set, giving the crowd a taste of what was to come.

As the night progressed, the crowd gradually swelled, with everyone arriving just in time for the band to take the stage. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, creating an enjoyable experience throughout the performance. The dim lighting contributed to a moody ambiance that perfectly complemented the band’s unique vibe.

Lights dimmed and the distinct clashing sounds of a tambourine rang through the crowd, leading into ‘Maybe Make It Right’, from the bands 2023 EP Abandon Ship before following up with ‘Vaccum Boots’ which kept the room of fans thrilled!

Their hit song ‘Anenome’ was peculiarly placed in the middle of the setlist, yet it worked surprisingly well. The energy in the venue surged as the familiar notes filled the air, captivating fans who sang along with enthusiasm. It was a sight to behold; not a single concertgoer left the venue empty-handed, clutching tangible merchandise mementos of an unforgettable night. The connection between the band and their fans was palpable, creating an atmosphere that was both electric and intimate, ensuring that everyone walked away with a piece of the experience.
