LIVE REVIEW | FATAL FOUR WAY w/ Los Fatso Libres, The Overbites, The Crash Mats and Bucky Bombs | Banshee Labyrinth, Edinburgh 5th September 2025 by Mairi Lynch

Four bands, a Friday night and Edinburgh’s ‘Most Haunted Pub’. For one night only, Yorkshire based promoters Vadar Time headed northbound for Edinburgh’s Banshee Labyrinth to present the FATAL FOUR WAY. We headed along to see what all the fuss was about.

Bucky Bombs

The night kicked off at 7.30 with Bucky Bombs, bringing plenty of hometown affiliated songs from Fife. Their set balanced fast and slower tempo tracks, with new song ‘Mandy’ going down especially well. There were regulars amongst the crowd showing their support for them and whilst some songs felt slightly repetitive at times, the drummer was a standout of their set.

The Crash Mats

The Crash Mats were on next delivering a blast of quick, funny songs. Opening with ‘Sausage Roll’– the band kept the room laughing, but still had the talent to back it up. They premiered ‘Where Is Hans Mystery’ – a witty take on serial killers in hiding and a man from their home town, before finishing with a punk-style conga line, which a group of men in the audience happily joined in with.

The Overbites

Following that was The Overbites, the youngest band of the night, bursting with energy and stage presence, even a snapped guitar string didn’t stop their momentum. With the bassist covering from the band ‘Bad Year’, they impressed with strong vocals from all three members and standout drumming from Jim. A personal favourite of the night.

Los Fatso Libres

Headlining and closing the night was Los Fatso Fibres. Emerging to the stage in full wrestling gear and masks. Having travelled up from Nottingham, they brought impressive guitar riffs and top energy. Although some songs leaned samey, they played great in the live setting.
