THE SMASHING PUMPKINS AND WEEZER ANNOUNCE UK AND IRELAND SUMMER TOUR 2024

When The Smashing Pumpkin’s emerged from Chicago in 1988, the band was unlike any other in the world. They created a unique sound that fused together rock, pop, shoe-gaze, metal, goth, psychedelia, and electronic music. Their music was characterized by saccharine melodies, fuzzy distortion, bombastic orchestration, incendiary fretwork, eloquent songcraft, and unshakable hooks. The band’s sound was iconoclastic, and altogether new, setting them apart from their contemporaries.

Over the years, they have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and won several awards, including two GRAMMY® Awards, two MTV VMAs, and an American Music Award. Among the highlights of their catalogue are the diamond-certified Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness [1995], platinum Adore [1998], and gold Machina/The Machines of God [2000].

In 2018, they embarked on the highly successful Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour. This was followed by the release of SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN. In 2020, The Smashing Pumpkins released their eleventh full-length and latest double album, CYR. Fast forward to 2023, and the band has already released their newest album, ATUM, which is a rock opera presented in three acts. The album was accompanied by a massive, sold-out North American tour. Despite their already impressive output, The Smashing Pumpkins are currently working on new music with more details to follow.

Iconic rock band Weezer is returning to the UK after their successful stint on the Hella Mega stadium tour, and the release of their innovative quartet of EPs SZNZ in 2022. The band has sold over 10 million albums in the US and more than 35 million records worldwide since their debut album’s release in 1994. Their music has been streamed billions of times, and their catalog includes mega-hits like “Buddy Holly,” “Undone (The Sweater Song),” “Say It Ain’t So,” “El Scorcho,” “Hash Pipe,” “Island In The Sun,” “Beverly Hills,” “Pork and Beans,” and more.

Last year, The Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer performed at the BeachLife festival in California. The two bands have announced a tour in the UK and Ireland for 2024. The tickets for the tour will be available for purchase starting Friday, October 20th, at 10 am through www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
