Glasgow’s local singer-songwriter Tom Walker delighted fans with his appearance at night one of two sold out homecoming shows at Glasgow’s O2 Academy. Tom’s current UK tour ‘I Am’, with support from Kingfishr, is finished up this week in the Hammersmith Apollo, London, on 7th May.

With over 2,500 fans waiting patiently the lights dim as the night everyone was waiting for officially begins. The previous chatter that occupied the room quickly arose to cheers and screams of anticipation. The beginning notes of Toms song ‘Holy Ghost’ bursts through the speakers of the venue, electrifying the atmosphere. Immediately the room filled with energy which stayed consistent throughout the entirety of the night with the set continuing onto more phenomenal songs from Walkers discography including ‘Rapture’, ‘Head Underwater’, ‘Just You & I’ and ‘Burn’. The night ended on a high emotion with Walker performing his hit song ‘Leave a Light On’ which touched the hearts of many, not just within the venue that night but across the world since its release in 2017.

Latest release ‘lifeline’, featured in a recent advertisement for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) who are a particularly relevant UK-based charity advocating for mental health, which is close to Tom’s own heart having struggled with the loss of a close friend. Toms hoping that his music reaches anyone who feels like they’re struggling and that it can provide them with some form help and comfort.
