This week, Los Angeles-based band Kills Birds have unleashed their ferocious new single ‘Behind’. Backed by the likes of Dave Grohl [Foo Fighters] and Kim Gordon [Sonic Youth] new single ‘Behind’ comes accompanied by a visually captivating video directed by Brandon Sommerhalder. Released through Lucky Number, this track not only heralds the band’s first new music since their acclaimed 2021 sophomore album ‘Married‘ but also signifies an exciting new direction in the bands future.

Produced by the talented Aron Kobayashi Ritch (known for his work with Momma and Been Stellar), and delivers a cathartic experience that resonates with listeners on multiple levels. The band describes the essence of the track as, “Always late, even when you’re early. Out of time but the clock hasn’t started. An invite to the party but the party blows.” This blend of introspective lyrics and raw energy creates a compelling narrative that pulls you in from the very first note.

At the helm is lead singer Nina Ljeti, a Bosnian Canadian filmmaker who the Los Angeles Times dubbed “L.A.’s most electrifying new rock singer”, her powerful stage presence, combined with the blistering riffs of guitarist Jacob Loeb and the pummeling basslines of Fielder Thomas, creates an unforgettable live experience. The recent addition of drummer Griffin Kisner adds a new dimension to their already explosive sound.

With their self-titled debut in 2019 showcasing their grunge-inspired roots, Kills Birds took a significant leap forward with “Married,” which was recorded at Dave Grohl’s esteemed Studio 606 under the guidance of legendary producer Yves Rothman.
