On Tuesday night, five-piece indie rock band Great Grandpa the took on a sold out YES Basement. Formed in Seattle, Washington Great Granpa are on the penultimate pit stop of their EU/UK tour, celebrating and sharing their 2025 released album “Patience, Moonbeam” – named after an inside joke that a family member within the band would repeat across their lifetime. From the moment they began their set, the main comparatives and adjacent sounds gathered from Great Grandpa are the works of the likes of Big Thief or Cavetown.

Katie Malco
Supporting Great Grandpa was indie-folk solo artist Katie Malco. Originating from Northampton Malco has been seen on multiple tours over the past year including supporting artists such as Medium Build and also Boygenius’ Julien Bakers American and UK tour dates. Throughout her setlist she performed a range of work from her debut album “Failures” as well as collaborative singles such as “Babette” featuring SOAK and “When You’re Sleeping” featuring mui zyu.
