Glasgow’s much-loved Sub Club Southside Weekender is set to return for its landmark 5th edition, taking place onSaturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August at Queens Park Arena, as part of the Bank Holiday weekend celebrations.
Few institutions in UK nightlife carry the same weight as Sub Club, a cornerstone of Scottish club culture for over three decades. This August, Sub Club once again take things outdoors, bringing together world-class artists and a passionate community of electronic music lovers in the heart of Glasgow’s Southside.
After a stellar run over the past four years, with previous headline sets from legends including Moodymann, Gerd Janson, DJ Minx, Derrick Carter and Shanti Celeste, the scene is set for another magical weekend of dancing under the trees in the beautiful Queen’s Park Arena.
The first names revealed for the Saturday programme include New Zealand duo Chaos In The CBD who will deliver their feel-good blend of house, jazz, and broken beat. Representing Subculture’s own rich legacy, Eclair Fifi steps up with her high-energy selections that have become a staple of the club’s sound in recent years.
On Sunday, house music royalty Kerri Chandler takes centre stage, Floorplan – the electrifying project from Robert and Lyric Hood – are set to deliver their unmistakable fusion of gospel, techno, and house, and Berlin’s Cinthie brings her infectious, groove-led approach that has made her one of Europe’s most in-demand DJs.
As ever, the party won’t stop when the park closes. Official afterparties planned across both nights, with lineup details and tickets to follow soon.
Now five years in, Southside Weekender feels like a natural extension of Sub Club itself; a celebration of community, sound, and the enduring influence of one of the UK’s most important dancefloors.
