LIVE REVIEW | BEN ELLIS w/ Millichamp and Ellis Blake | ACADEMY 3, MANCHESTER | 12th October 2026 by Jenna Laband

This past week, I had the pleasure of attending Ben Ellis‘ latest tour, Time Slows On Tour, On the flipside of his last tour, My Love Stays On Tour, which introduced us to his third studio EP, this series of shows marks the end of the era of The Train Where The Time Slows EP and has left fans wondering what comes next for the rising star.

Ben has always been defined by his presence on the indie music scene and the community of emerging artists he is surrounded by. From supporting names such as Henry Moodie, Alfie Jukes and Sadie Jean, Ben as an artist understands the value of supporting emerging talent, knowing first-hand the importance of giving opportunities to others. This compassion is reflected within the support lineup for this tour, with phenomenal duo Millichamp joining, bringing their fresh indie pop vocals and Ben’s guitarist Ellis Blake even joining the support lineup with an acoustic set of his own unreleased tracks.

As someone who has followed Ben’s journey from bedroom TikTok lives, to acoustic support slots and to now with a full band, it’s been amazing seeing the journey and development of his stage presence. Returning this tour with the complete band – Ellis Blake on guitar, Tom Walters on drums and Tom Auton on bass – it was clear the confidence he has built within himself and his craft.

Kicking off the set with a mixture of both new and old tracks, each one was met with the same passion as the next by the adoring crowd. Playing hit single ‘Eds House’ felt like a complete full circle moment, as one of the first tracks Ben ever released, becoming the title track of his first EP, Eds House EP, will always mark a significant milestone for Ben and his fanbase, and that could be felt in the room.

In speeches during the evening, Ben regarded this tour as the one where he feels he has finally found himself as an artist and feels confident in his sound and identity, and this truly shone throughout the performance. From interacting with the crowd, dancing around and owning the stage, it was such a proud moment to see an artist who pours so much into his craft get the recognition he desrves. Speaking about finding his identity as an artist, Ben also discussed this tour being the end of an era for him, closing off the ‘Train Where The Time Slows’ EP and markong the start of a new journey. In true Ben style, he then gave us a glimpse into where he’s going next as an artist, playing new unreleased track ‘I Could Be Your Man‘ which went down a treat with the crowd.

Closing off the set with ‘When It Ends’ really felt like one complete full circle moment, as the opening track of his previous tour and closing one of ‘Time Slows On Tour’, this really felt like a fitting and poigniant end to this era of Ben as an artist. As someone fortunate enough to watch his journey in the industry so far, I would encourage you to chack out his music before he makes it big time. Check out more here.
